Mindy Jordan, the 46-year-old nurse who “fell overboard” from the Norwegian Dawn on Sunday, was beaten so badly by boyfriend Jorge Caputo six months ago that Mindy needed facial reconstruction surgery.
Supposedly, Mindy accidentally fell overboard during a raging storm with 50 mph winds, 10-foot seas and heavy rain as the Norwegian Dawn sailed south from NYC through a “noreaster” when Jordan tried to climb from her stateroom balcony to an adjoining one occupied by friends.
No one in their right mind would climb between balconies at night during a storm when they could easily use the stateroom door.
The only rational explanation is that Mindy Jordan was fleeing from a violent attack from her abusive boyfriend Jorge Caputo, pictured below, who gave Jordan the bruise above.
You can see in the pictures of the Norwegian Dawn cruise ship that the staterooms are some forty feet above the waterline.
Climbing from one balcony to another would be scary when the cruise ship was docked, let alone in the dark during high seas and a raging storm.
The FBI is investigating the Norwegian Dawn overboard passenger statements from witnesses and crew, but the only one who actually saw Mindy go overboard was Jorge Caputo.

This really isn’t a case of woman falls off cruise ship by accident. Looks like due to lack of evidence that Mindy Jordan’s killer will literally get away with murder.
Mindy’s mother, Louise Jordan, has gone public with the real story behind the repeated domestic violence that Caputo inflicted in the hopes that the FBI will take a hard look at the case.
However, the FBI will not meet the ship when it docks in Bermuda on Wednesday. Authorities in Bermuda will talk to witnesses and employees before the FBI decides if it needs to look further into the case of the mysterious fall from a cruise ship during a storm by a woman who was afraid of heights.
“Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and friends of the guest during this difficult time,” said Norwegian Cruise Line spokeswoman AnneMarie Mathews.

i do not understand why he wwaited for fifteen hours to call the family when she had been missing just two hours after leaving the dock. i do not understand how someone who loved another and lost them,,, could continue on the trip as if it was ” nothing” to do so… i do not understand anything if the FBI does not pursue this in depth and more so now than ever, since we know there are things like this happening on cruise ships all too often. also wonder about why he was so violent to her,,and if this was planned long before they even left,,with him making it “appear to be a fun thing “to take a trip tgethr,,andwhen he “knew” all along…….this horible thing was going t happen! Even i can see all this,,, lets hope the educated FBI see the truth here.

I am so sorry for your loss, hopefully, the truth will come out and he will PAY dearly. Time and time again, you hear of these tragedies play out at the hands of the b/f or husband. I say he is GUILTY!!!!
Oh Mindy, you will be missed…you were a brillant, shining sweetheart of a girl, with a heart too big to get yourself away from the hate and rage that Jorge could not control..You saw the good in him, and gave him that just one more chance too many.. I will never forget dancing on the deck, you so happy and every one around you catching it like a cold..It’s over now Darlin, and time for you to rest. Someone will handle Jorge, I promise you, with eyes as cold and merciless as his as he rose up and away from you. He will feel the cold fear of falling, and no one coming to help..ever. You were loved! I hope heaven has Janis on the jukebox, Baby! God will show Jorge the monster he is.. at night he will toss and turn and check his eyelids for holes. They’ll be on his tail, chasing him, he will never rest again. I worked with Mindy years ago at a dialysis center. She was energetic, full of fun and life. My heart aches for her daughter and son. My heart aches for her whole family. God bless them. May justice be served.

We were on the Dawn the night Mindy was lost….The weather was awful and so cold and raw that we couldn’t go on our balconey….The weather turned very bad, very quickly after we sailed from NY. Honestly, I do find it very hard to believe that she was even outside, let alone climbing.
I am so sorry for Mindy’s family. My husband and I were saddened the whole time we were sailing, just thinking about her.
Wasn’t there another couple travelling with them that were staying next door? What happened to them? Didn’t they witness anything?
We were also passengers on this cruise – on the same floor as the victim. It was a terrible and shocking experience. The seas were extremely rough and the ship was tilting severely. It is hard to imagine that anyone would venture out onto a balcony – let alone try to move from one to another.
We are both 6′ males and we would not have considered venturing out that evening.
We were very saddened by the the news of this incident and our thoughts and prayers are with Mindy Jordan’s family and friends.

Everyone thinks Jorge is guilty as I do also!
Jorge could have easily locked Mindy out on the balcony while she went out ie. for a quick smoke. He may have told her the only way out was to climb over the balcony in the adjacent room where he was waiting for her. This would explain how he was so quick to call in the person overboard call. If Jorge is guilty, there is no way anyone can prove it.
He may have committed the perfect crime!
Why would any sane woman stay with a guy who supposedly beat her so badly she required plastic surgery to repair her face? Makes no sense to me. Why didn’t she have a restraining order on him? Too many unanswered questions. She appears to me to be very mentally unstable. That may explain why she jumped overboard. I think it was suicide. Nuff said.

This message goes out to the Jordan family. I was on the same ship as Mindy and I believe I have a picture that was taken of her on the boat. I would love to give you this picture but I’m not sure if it is her. I’m trying to put myself in your shoes, and if this was one of my loved ones, I would want the picture. I don’t want to give you false hope but I don’t know how else to verify that the picture I have is of Mindy. I have no other way of making contact with you so posting a comment was my only option. Maybe Mindy stepped out on the balcony to smoke a quick cigarette or get a breath of fresh air; boyfriend then locks the balcony door behind her, then leaves the room, goes next door. Other than waiting on her own balcony in the cold, stormy, dark night, not knowing when boyfriend would return, she makes a bad decision and attempts to climb to the adjacent balcony to be let in by her travel companions.
My daughter was abused on several occasions by Jorge Cqputo. He has admitted having a fight with her in their cabin. I believe he beat her again and locked her out on the balcony in the storm. When he did not return, she tried to save herself by climbing to the cabin next door for help. The FBI won’t even try to prove this. No lie detector test, no viewing his leaving the room angry. He is responsible for the death of one of the nicest people in the world, but will never be accused officially (see http://www.internationalcruisevictims.org). I was also on that cruise, my first cruise & was horrified when the captain made the annoucement that a person went “overboard”. I also believe that jorge pushed/threw Mindy overboard. The water was rough, it was getting dark, I can’t imagine that she would try to climb to the next balcony because she was “drunk” as jorge states! It was only three hours into the cruise! How drunk could you be??!!Bullcrap! I felt and still feel very sad that she had to pass in such a horrific way. She did not deserve to die like this. My prayers go out to Mindy’s family, especially her children. Hopefully the FBI will gather enough evidence to throw his butt in prision for life!! IF not, he will have his day with GOD!!

O my God, I cannot believe this!!! I just stumbled upon this!! I went to high school with Mindy!! We were friends as teenagers!! I have not seen Mindy or heard from her in years!! I thought I would look up old classmates and friends and remebered her married name was Jordan!! I am so shocked and saddened to hear this!! Mindy was the sweetest nicest little girl you ever wanted to meet!! I was hoping it was a different Mindy Jordan, but no this is her for sure how she would look at 46!! Oh my thoughts and prayers are with the family!!! I say prosicute this man, it seems for sure he was responsible!! Oh poor Mindy!! This is horrible!!!

Mindy did not smoke, so she did not step out for a smoke we miss and love you, I hope you sleep well at night Jorge, she did not do this bye herself. She was not an angel, but she was not a devil. As far as what Jim about white power and Jorge, he needs he head examined or rehab or he need to take his post down. He is a total nut. I knew her 28 yrs. I was her sister in law.
I am sorry for your loss, but this article is unbelievably presumptuous and clearly this is written by a family member/friend as there is no journalistic integrity here. I didn’t know this woman nor do I know her boyfriend, but the video surveillance proved she fell due to her own foolish behavior. Abusive he may have been, but her death wasn’t relevant to that.
well the evidence showed her falling, jorge was not around when this happend , he was in the room/ so all you haters need to stop with the conspiracy theories and come to grips with the truth, this was a horrible accident, nothing more , nothing less. he was found to be not liable or even a suspect

Video of this incident does not show any area surrounding the victim. Video only shows the victim falling from the railing. The boyfriend was the only witness.
