Caylee Anthony Body Found – The body of missing Florida toddler Caylee Anthony has been found with duct tape wrapped around her head only a few houses away from Casey Anthony’s parent house.

Orange County deputies said a meter reader found the remains of a young child this morning in the area of S. Chickasaw Trail and Suburban Drive — less than 1/4 mile from the Anthonys’ home on Hopespring Drive.
Spokesman Jim Solomons of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said the remains were found in a large plastic bag.
Todd Black, the spokesman for Casey Anthony’s defense attorney, said the utility worker picked up the bag and a skull rolled out of it.
Residents said duct tape was found around the skull, but those reports have not been confirmed by law-enforcement official.
“We certainly hope it isn’t [related to the Anthony case],” Black said. “If it is, it is a sad day.”
Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary is at the crime scene and said, “we are trying to put it all together.” The sheriff also said there are no other cases of missing children in Orange County.
Beary said the FBI was notified and their investigators told him the discovery is a top priority for the agency’s lab.
Dr. Lee Jantz, coordinator of the forensic anthropology center at the University of Tennessee, told the Associated Press that it is more difficult to identify a child’s body than an adult’s.
Jantz said the first thing medical examiners will do is compare photos of the child with the skull, in hopes of making a bone structure comparison. In high-profile cases the DNA of the bones will also be tested.

Casey Anthony’s defense attorney Jose Baez, walked out of Orange County Jail shortly after 1:33 p.m. and he was surrounded by media cameras and reporters. He would not speak about the remains. He said he would comment later today.
EquuSearch volunteer Deborah Smith said she searched the area three times and had “a bad feeling” because Anthony had mentioned her daughter was nearby.
“It still feels like she’s, she’s close to home,” Anthony told her brother Lee Anthony in a recorded telephone conversation in July. “That’s still my best feeling at the moment.”
Smith said the area where the remains were found is “really wet and steep and there’s lots of snakes back there.”
Three-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony was reported missing July 15. Anthony was indicted in October on first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.
Anthony is being held without bail at the Orange County Jail.
Cindy and George Anthony have insisted that their granddaughter is alive.
Captain Angelo Nieves of the sheriff’s office said investigators “right now cannot confirm the sex of the child.” Nieves said lead investigator John Allen called George and Cindy Anthony about the discovery. The Orange County Jail was also notified.
Nieves said forensic detectives are inspecting the remains. A medical examiner and FBI detectives are also at the scene.
Sheriff’s office patrol cars are blocking Suburban Drive at Hopespring Drive. Yellow crime scene tape surrounds a section of woods near the intersection.
EquuSearch spokeswoman Mandy Albritton said their workers did not check that location earlier because it was submerged in water when they had looked in September. When they returned in November, the site had been fenced off.
And that’s the latest news on Caylee Anthony body found.

Incredible. They haven’t identified the sex of the child yet you say “Caylee Anthony Body Found”. Top-notch news reporting. You must have ESP.

They should take the crazy mother AND the grandparents out, and make THEM disappear!!! The whole thing is beyond words. The only thing I can hope for is, that she’s in a safe happy place now, where she KNOWS she’s loved. I’ve heard people say..children that die, were too perfect for this world and God has a better plan for them, I take comfort in believing that.

Orange County Sheriff Dept. Detective Sgt. John Allen points Crime Scene technicians toward the area where skeletal remains of a small child were found Thursday, Dec. 11. 2008 less than a half-mile from the Orlando, Fla. home of missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony.
In a Tuesday, July 22, 2008 file photo, Casey Anthony, mother of missing 3-year old Caylee Anthony, wipes away tears during a bond hearing at the Orange County courthouse in Orlando, Fla.

News Video of Body Discovery:
December 12th, 2008 at 9:04 am
Suspicions are high that the remains are Caylee’s because no other young child is known to be missing in Orange County.
DNA tests may identify the body within days, but unless there are signs of trauma, it may be difficult to determine a cause of death.
“The bottom line is real simple, folks,” Sheriff Kevin Beary said. “We recovered this human skull. It appears to be that of a small child. Now the investigation continues.”
December 12th, 2008 at 11:26 am
This is crrrrazy! If this is the body of the missing child the mother needs the electric chair. For what reason would she have the kill the baby give her up for adoption, to the grandparents, or something leave her at daycare don’t kill her. Please crazy people some the maddest.
December 12th, 2008 at 11:36 am
It seems way too convenient that Caylee’s body is suddenly discovered after the prosecution announces they won’t seek the death penalty. Equally suspicious is the fact that George and Cindy Anthony suddenly travel out of state to investigate a Caylee “sighting”. It is almost as if they knew the body was going to be found, and they did not want to be there when it was.

Remains Linked To Caylee Anthony
A medical examiner found a connection between the skeletal remains of a child and the house of missing Florida girl Caylee Anthony, the local sheriff said Friday.
Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said the Anthonys’ home was searched early Friday after the medical examiner found “some clues that came out of the remains” that “linked (them) to the house.”
Police also said the body seemed to be the same age and size as Caylee.
Beary declined to elaborate on what clues were discovered. The property was also searched Thursday night.
“We took some things out of the house that the forensic people are very interested in,” he said.
Asked if he believed the remains were Caylee’s, Beary told NBC’s “Today” show: “My gut says yes, but I have to wait seven to 14 days for the DNA analysis to absolutely make sure.”
There are also no other similar missing-child cases in the area.
Meanwhile, a judge denied defense attorneys’ request Friday to have their own experts present during testing of the remains and the autopsy.
Circuit Judge Stan Strickland said he believed defense representatives would interfere with medical examiners if they were in the room during the identification of the body and the determination of a cause of death.
Lawyers also were in court in an effort to preserve the evidence collected Thursday.
Investigators were hurrying to identify the skeletal remains of the small child, found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home.
A team of medical examiners and detectives hoped the bones, discovered by a water meter reader, would help them solve the 6-month-old mystery of the child’s whereabouts.
Caylee, who would have turned 3 in August, was last seen in June. Her mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony is behind bars and charged with her murder.
Beary said his detectives and the FBI would work around the clock and through the weekend to identify the child.
“Now the investigation continues,” Beary said. “There is a lot of lab work to do. There is a lot of DNA work to do. There is a lot of crime scene work to do.”
The worker stumbled upon the bones in a bag bound with duct tape less than a half-mile from where Caylee lived with her mother and grandparents in Orange County, Fla., near Orlando.
There were reports that a skull with duct tape around the mouth area rolled out of the bag when the utility worker picked it up. He had apparently gone into the woods to relieve himself.
Casey Anthony was indicted in October on first-degree murder and other charges, even without a body. She has insisted that she left the girl with a baby sitter in June, but she didn’t report her missing until July.
For the past several months, Anthony’s family, police and volunteers from around the country have searched for the little girl. They had overlooked the wooded lot where the skull was found first because it was flooded after heavy rains and later because it was fenced off.
• Anthony Trial Would Be One to Watch, Attorneys Say
Allen Moore, a spokesman for the Orange County jail, said Casey Anthony was told about the discovery. She was placed under psychological observation, not suicide watch, and remains under protective custody.
Sheriff’s spokesman Angelo Nieves said officials told Caylee’s grandparents about the find.
A spokeswoman with the state attorney’s office said it would reserve comment until the investigation was complete.
• Plastic Bag, Duct Tape Could Yield Vital Clues
The child’s grandmother first called authorities in July to say she hadn’t seen Caylee for a month and her daughter’s car smelled like death.
Police interviewed Anthony and said everything she told them about her daughter’s whereabouts was false. The baby sitter was nonexistent and the apartment where Anthony said she had last seen Caylee had been empty for months.
Last week, prosecutors announced they would not pursue the death penalty for Anthony. Earlier Thursday, before the remains were discovered, a judge had delayed her trial from January to March.

This story is very disturbing. It was a miracle the utility worker found the possible remains. If this is Caylee there will be closure. It sickens me to think that the Anthony family still covers for their sick daughter. Now the truth will come out and justice will prevail for this small silent victim.

What a sad and happy day. I was so happy they found little caylee,s body. That poor little thing and it broke my heart and thousands and thousands of other people. She became family and how we prayed for her body to be found. What a cold hearted bitch that mother of Caylee. I hope she will be given the death sentence.
Thank you and Fox 35 for a wonderfull job.

Please continue to pray for the grandparents of little Caylee and refrain from persecuting them. They are victims of their daughter’s actions as well. I have not a doubt in my mind that they loved that little girl with every ounce of their being. They don’t owe us any explanations of how they feel about their daughter, whether she did it etc.. I can only imagine the hellish position they’re in. Someone has to love Casey and support her, that’s the beauty of the parent child relationship is that it is unconditional. Caylee will get justice, her mother will pay…Just don’t expect that Casey’s parents should be celebrating with the nation when this happens. They have lost a beloved grandchild and a daughter in one blow, not to mention the mental torture of wondering what they could have done differently to prevent this. Please give them a break.
December 13th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
so sad that a child’s life was taken. But i believe the spirit goes back to God Creator from which all life returns. and the harm that was done to this child will be paid for by those who choose to do so. the mother [if] she did this which i believe she did, may pay for it by being in jail the rest of her life, But i know people who have no feelings now[like the mother] may after years of confinement have to deal with what they did, some do.. but a lot of socialpaths never have feellings. so i believe the death pentaly here should be inforced. and they grandparents i also believe they knew and if so they are just as guility .
anytime one harms another it comes back to the one who inflicted it. what is so wrong is that there are people who have no emotions and feelings and have no conpassion for anything or anybody. this shows the path where our society is traveling.

i wish the anthony family would just believe that she is gone its bast for the baby she need to rest in peace…
i hope this is caylee anthony…god bless you all

All I can say is if it is Cayley, Thank God for closure. And pray for the Grandparents and Pray for the mother because it looks like she is going away for a long , long time!
December 14th, 2008 at 8:00 pm
pray for all of them even the mother.mental illness is a disease not to say she shouldnt take responsibility, she will, and will go to jail and have to face god and look at herself for what she has done. this is a horrible thing all the way around.
December 15th, 2008 at 9:43 am
I’ve been with this story from the beginning. I praise CNN news and the Nancy Grace show for shedding so much light on this story. Casey is a true monster. Little Caylee didn’t deserve this. I feel like the grandparents had to have some idea that their daughter was ill, she’s a liar. That, not being a crime, they should have tried to obtain custody of little Caylee a long time ago. I feel sorry for George and Cindy, Lee on the other hand I have my doubts. I don’t think the death penalty fits the crime, she should receive life in prison so she has to think about CAYLEE everyday that she has left. In the event of it all she doesn’t try to kill herself, too. This is a sad day for the Anthony family as well as all of America.
December 16th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Rest in peace Americas little princess!!! It is sad what people can do to our little people who love them unconditionally and trust them most in life. I know Caylee is in a better place. I try not to think about what the poor little girl had to endure at the handles of her mother.
George and Cindy please please understand what your daughter has done and stop chasing fabrications. All the lies and inconsistancies have to make you see Casey did this to Caylee. Casey needs to be held responsible for her actions even if she is mentally ill.
December 17th, 2008 at 9:40 am
I don’t watch the news because it is depressing, and sad but today my daycare teacher was talking about this story and I came straight to work and googled it. I myself have a 3 yr old little girl, and she is my WORLD. It saddens me that today people don’t live for their children. Once you have a child it is no longer about you or what you want it is about the well being of you child(ren). THis story made me weep and because I know that all children are pure I know that little caylee is in a beautiful place with no pain. But it still hurts to know that that little girl never had a chance of the life here on earth.
December 18th, 2008 at 2:27 am
I CAN’T UNDERSTAND THAT CASEY,NEED A PILL, KNOW SHE DIDNOT NEED ONE WHEN THEY FIRST SAID, THEY HAD FOUND HER THE . WHY KNOW ? BECAUSE SHE KNOW SHE HAVE BEEN BUSTED AND THAT TO ME MEAN YES, YES, YES,
December 18th, 2008 at 10:35 am
Kaylee, you were never given a chance to live a normal life like other little girls do. May you rest in peace little beautiful girl. You are now in a much better place with our Lord.
December 18th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
God kept His promise and delivered this precious baby angel to her people (country). Rest in peace little princess – you will never have to suffer again.

Where is the little girl’s daddy and his family? I have heard nothing about the paternal grandparents.
December 19th, 2008 at 11:38 am
COME ON THE GRAND PARENTS KNEW SHE DID IT AND I BET THE BROTHER HELPED HER AND MAYBE IF THE GRANDMOTHER DIDNT WASH HER CLOTHES THEY WOULD HAVE FOUND HER BEFORE NOW
December 19th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
I have been hoping that through out all this madness a beatiful little 3yr old girl would come back alive. However I strongly feel that the whole family knew that Caylee Anthony was no longer alive and they held this information until the body of Caylee deteriorated and lied the whole way since June……Justice need be done to this situation of nothing but lies lies and more lies…..I am so unhappy of an innocent child that couldnt even defend hershelf. Now come on and let them have it…….
December 19th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
I keep looking at the videos of the phone calls between Casey and her parents. They just seem fake to me. They seem to be like pre-rehearsed theatrical kind of conversations. No emotions really in the words that are being spoken by the grandparents. It’s disturbing. They had to know she was dead. They smelled her in the car. It’s like they were aware of what happened and were trying to protect their daughter Casey. Nobody, I’m sure, would ever want to admit to themselves that their own daughter could commit such a crime. They changed their story just like Casey did. It wasn’t a dead body smell, it was rotten pizza smell. Was it a parental protective thing on their part? Do you think they were grieving so much over the fact they knew their daughter did such a thing and then didn’t know what else to do but try to help her cover it up???????
December 19th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
I can’t believe that stupid b**** Casey Anthony killed her daugther i think she should stay in jail for the rest og her life
December 21st, 2008 at 2:19 am
She barrowed a shovel. What of the condition of the shovel. Did she return it to the neighbors? Did Casey say why she needed a shovel and for what location she used it in? If the (nanny) had Caley for more than a day, what was Casey doing? It sounds as if Casey was not home alot with her daughter, spending the night strange places, a non structured routine. Sounds like a drug story to me. Easy to forget to pick up her kid after a month!!! This should have been her story to the police if she didn’t wack her own child. Dumb ass. Poor sweet baby. God rest her sole.
December 21st, 2008 at 7:59 pm
i do not believe the grandparents had any thing to do with it. the mother must have been very sick to do what she did to such a innocent child. God must of needed another angel in heaven.
December 24th, 2008 at 11:42 pm
this is nuts the mom is so stupid she deserves to die for what she did to her i can’t believe how anyone could kill there own kid it is ridiculous and the grandparents should have been more worried but they believed their stupid daughter who like i said deserves the electric chair and die a horrible death for killing such an innocent child!!!!!!!!!!
January 14th, 2009 at 5:22 pm
This is the sadest storie in the my life time and How ever did this should get what she gone through!
January 16th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I can’t help but think that child was Casey and Lee’s. CAY (casey) LEE (lee). It is strange that no other person has been proven to be the father. This whole family seems to cover cover and cover lie after lie which was OK until a child is murdered. Now they can’t sit around their table and lie every day. Each one of them are accountable for the situations leading up to this murder. The child was most likely in that trunk when George Anthony wanted his ramp out of the trunk. She may have even thrown Caylee in the yard during the encounter. I hated how the investigator kept yapping at Casey, telling her how she lied and what she did but never shut his mouth to make her explain herself. They should have Caylee’s picture on every wall in that liars cell. They should play that sweet song the child sang….”You Are My Sunshine” to Casey over and over. There is a glue test that they can do on the tape and garbage bag that will show finger prints. The only true innicent person is George Anthony. He did not lie about anything. He told the authorities exactly what he knew. Cindy decides to change her odor senses from DEAD BODY SMELL TO PIZZA. This is an outrage. If my child had killed my grandchild, I would not want to protect my child. I just couldn’t. This case is going to be another cover it up and lie. I might as well quit watching about it because the system DOES NOT WORK. That child is dead and the mother will get away witrh it.
SO SO SAD.
January 19th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
the whole thing is just sick
January 31st, 2009 at 10:57 pm
This whole story saddens me. I have a 5 year old and can’t imagine what kind of sick minded p.o.s could ever do this to their child. I do believe that Casey killed her daughter. I think there was/is a lot of hidden lies and false reports made. I read about how you can understand that the grandparents defended their daughter, because that is how parental love works. BULLSHIT. Where was the parental love that Kaylee deserved. I think the grandparents most likely knew, and think it is pathetic that they would cover up the MURDER of their GRAND DAUGHTER. I do not agree that Casey should get the death penalty. I think, she should be thrown in prison for life and have to sit there day after day and think about what she did to that BEAUTIFUL little girl, I hope she is put through hell and lives in misery everyday.

Casey Anthony Affadavit – I Am Not Selling Caylee’s Story
ORLANDO, Fla. – Casey Anthony said Tuesday, March 10, 2009 that she believes prosecutors are “angry because I have refused to take a plea agreement for a crime that I did not commit.”
The handwritten words – including capital letters for “DID NOT” — are part of a sworn affidavit she signed on Tuesday.
The affidavit also states that she has no agreements to sell her story or “that of my daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony.”
Anthony’s defense attorney filed the affidavit as part of his objection to a prosecution motion that is seeking to find out where Anthony is getting money to fund her defense.
Prosecutors on Monday said they want a judge to find out where Anthony, who is charged with her daughter Caylee’s death, is getting the money to pay for her defense team.
They want Judge Stan Strickland to require Baez to produce all deposit records, retainer agreements and licensing arrangements. If any of these dealings exist, prosecutors want Casey Anthony to sign a waiver saying she’s aware of them. Baez said he’s been consulting an ethics lawyer all the way and said Monday he planned to file a sworn motion repeating his stance that he’s done nothing unethical.
Repeatedly, Baez has declined to say who is paying for her legal dream team. He said it’s nobody’s business.
As questions persisted, Baez said he has “done nothing but conduct myself in a most professional manner, and that he has done nothing unethical” when asked about the role he played in building the defense fund.
One of the lead prosecutors said this deal could lead to a potential conflict of interest for Baez. Baez said this is a “witch hunt,” and the state has “no evidence” to prove their allegations because he’s done nothing wrong.
If Baez has made improper side deals for book or movie rights to the case, prosecutors said the arrangement could be “fraught with potential conflict of interest.” One criminal defense attorney said it could give Casey Anthony grounds to ask for another trial.
For their part, prosecutors said they “are not trying to block Baez from representing Casey.”
Meanwhile, on Thursday, attorneys for Casey Anthony and her parents, George and Cindy, are scheduled to head back to court to argue motions. The Anthonys’ attorney is going to ask the judge to keep George Anthony’s suicide note from being made public.

I agree with all of you. She should be put down like the animal that she is. And sooner than later. What kind of heartless person could do such a thing. Where are her crocodile tears now? I believe Florida does have the death penalty. Here in CA, there are lengthy appeals. Scott Peterson is still in jail. But I hear that he is having “fun” with the other inmates. He is their wife.
