Ashley Grills – Pics and video of Ashley Grills, the unindicted co-consprator with Lori Drew, the 39-year old woman indicted in the MySpace taunting that led to the Megan Meier suicide.

As Lori Drew’s employee, Ashley Grills created the fake MySpace profile of “Josh Evans” – a hunky 16-year old boy – that Ashley Grills and Lori Drew’s daughter Sarah used to torment 13-year old Megan Meier to death.

Under Lori Drew’s direction, the 18-year old Grills along with 13-year old Sarah Drew and 13-year old Jessica Mulford at first used the fake MySpace profile to fool 13-year old Megan Meier into a pretend online romance with a fictional boy, then viciously turned on her and hounded her to death with devastating remarks.

Both Ashley Grills and Lori Drew knew that 13-year old Megan was already taking medication for depression, but told police investigators that they really meant no harm, they just wanted to know what Megan was saying online about her ex-friend and neighbor Sarah Drew.

Not sure why any adult would think it was OK to torment a 13-year old for more than a month just to find out what Megan said about her ex-friend, whom she avoided after being teased by her at school about being overweight and not having a boyfriend.
Ashley Grills told police that she never meant any harm to young Megan and only did what her boss told her to do. Of course, Nazi concentration camp officers said the same thing at Nuremburg.
After Megan Meier’s trio of tormentors ended the online relationship between Megan and the fictional “Josh Evans” with an email that said ‘the world would be a better place without you’, Megan broke down and hung herself in her bedroom closet while her mother cooked dinner downstairs.

Upon seeing ambulances pull up at the Meier’s house across the street, Ashley quickly deleted the fake “Josh Evans” MySpace account while Lori Drew called their 13-year old neighbor, Jessica Mulford, and told her to keep her mouth shut about everything.
When the proverbial stuff hit the fan, Ashley Grills conveniently checked into a psychiatric care facility and hid from all contact with media and police investigators before finally giving a statement that laid all the blame on her boss and made herself look like an unwitting dupe who didn’t do anything wrong.

Lori Drew was indicted today for her role in the MySpace-related suicide of Megan Meier on charges of conspiracy and accessing protected computers without authorization to inflict emotional distress. Drew faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
“Any adult who uses the internet or a social gathering website to bully or harass another person, particularly a young teenage girl, needs to realize that their actions can have serious consequences,” Los Angeles federal prosecutor Thomas O’Brien, who brought the charges, said in a statement.

And that’s the latest on the psychotic tormentor who helped cause the suicide of 13-year old Megan Meier, the 19-year old and already morbidly obese Ashley Grills.

I disagree with most of what you say. Ashley was only 18 at the time, made a stupid mistake, and is now branded for life. Her guilty conscience was tormenting her, so she had a breakdown, and was hospitalized. She has felt tremendous guilt since day one, and has apologized for her actions on national TV.
I ask you: what more do you want from her. Perhaps you would like to see Mrs.Grills commit suicide. THen what? will you dance around like some morally depraved animal? Shame on you!
May 15th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
I do not buy for one second the whole “she was only 18 at the time”. Last time I checked you are legally declared an adult at 18. Even before that you’re brain is developed enough to make rational and reasonable decisions.
Whether she made a mistake or not, when it comes down to it she was the sole reason why megan killed herself. She didn’t need to say ” the world would be a better place with out you” in order for Megan to stop talking to them. All they needed to do was say “I’m sorry I cant talk to you anymore” or something, and then delete the account.
She was the one who took it to far. I am a strong believer that not everyone on earth serves a good purpose in society. There are those that hurt and destroy society and shouldn’t be with us. After this Ashley Grills is in that category. And I dont need to hope for her to do the noble thing and end her pathetic life, because I think with all the guilt she should be feeling(if she has any human feelings left in her) she will probably do it anyways.

And the school shooters are only 15-20. I dont buy it. You know when you are doing something wrong.

tyler,
so are you saying that you are superior to the rest of the human population. you have never made mistakes. You have never try to ask forgiveness for what you have done? Give me a break. Lori Drew is responsible for the Meiers girl

Reply to Tyler (post #2)
So Tyler, I guess you have never made a mistake in your life? Why are you so quick to judge? Lets review the facts:
Ashley Grills:
- made a big mistake by going along with Lori Drew’s plan to humiliate Megan by posting as a 15 yr old boy on the internet.
-felt so guilty by the suicide that she was hospitalized with mental health problems BEFORE anyone in America knew the whole story
-apologized for her role of the suicide on a national TV show.
-deeply regrets what she has done
Lori Drew:
-initiated the prank on a 13 year old child
-paid Ashley Grills to harass Megan
-covered up the suicide, and went along as if nothing happened, going as far as to comfort the Meiers family
-has lied, manipulated, and been deceitful to the Police, media, and friends
-refuses to accept any responsibility for her actions
-has tried to portray herself as a “victim” to the press by claiming it is she who has suffered the most by getting harassing phone calls, and a backlash of public opinion against her.
Tell me again, Tyler. Who is the real culprit in this story?

Oh please! Comparing a couple of nasty messages on the internet to murdering several innocent people in cold blood is a very weak comparison. Nice try, though….

Lori Drews is also to blame. But if it werent for Ashley Grills comment at the end, Megan Meier would probably be still be alive. If you read some of the reports it states that Lori Drew and Ashley Grills both knew that Megan Meier’s was suffering from depression and was taking medication. Yet Ashley still thought it was a great idea to tell a depressed 13 year old girl that “the world would be a better place with out her”. I dont care what you say….that kind of mistake is not acceptable. She knew Megan was depressed and she still told her the world would be better off without her. If anything the world would be a better place with out Ashley or Lori.
She should get a little more than a “Oh she learned her lesson, she didnt mean to do it, lets all move on.” And yeah I made mistakes, but not a mistake that results in the suicide of a 13-year old girl. Some mistakes shouldn’t beforgiven. Lori Drew deserves what is coming to her and she should probably do what I suggested Ashley do and end her useless life.

Tyler, you’re a pathetic human being, and thank God most people don’t think like you do. Otherwise, there would still be witch hunts and lynchings all over america…
June 6th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Tyler, You must not be aware that Ashley had no knowledge about Megan’s history of depression. Lori, however, knew that Megan took antidepressants as their families were good friends and the Drews actually bought their house through Megan’s mother, a real estate agent. There is plenty of blame to go around but Ashley Grills is/was a teen herself and made a terrible mistake she has/will pay for for the rest of her life. She has expressed remorse and taken responsibility for her actions. Lori Drew has no excuse and has not accepted any blame. But her culpability in Megan’s death is abundantly apparent when she made phone calls asking another child and Ashley to keep quiet after Megan’s body was discovered.

It’s kind of ironic that either of them would call their poor victim “fat.” Like the pot calling the kettle black, except if the kettle wasn’t even actually black.
…Sorry. Seriously, I’m 19, and although I may be willing to comment on these creeps’ weight problems/hypocrisy, I know better than to lie to and torment an innocent 13-year-old–and I knew better than that last year too, when I was 18. An 18-year-old who sends messages like that has something wrong with her, although I do agree that Mrs. Drew bears more responsibility for this tragedy. By the way, I’m not saying I don’t make mistakes. But I’ve never been responsible for a child’s death.

okay i don’t get why Tina thinks it’s okay to torment a 14 year old herself, when she claims her daughter was just a kid.sarah drew was the one originally being bullied.so tina organizes a hate campain, ostensibly to her mom,but in reality it’s against Sarah?I know peple who troll and it’s likey both girls were flaming each other.and no,you don’t kill yourself over being flamed.take it from a guy who kniows.okay, you troll and flame to vent off depression, and if someone flames you,you get a rise out of it.there was much more going on than tina’s mom admits.as for shley, her body language and mannerisms tell me she’s not telling the truth.

that is messed up
November 5th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
i disagree with you collin, im sorry but i dont think you understand that MEGAN IS NOT EVER COMING BACK! ashley and laurie may come out of jail when megan comes back. ok? and that will be never. they killed someone, they need to be in jail for life. i bet if that were your daughter you would’nt say “oh its ok, you just tormented my daughter, no biggie.” no you wont, so stop being a hypocrite and get with the program.
megans birthday is tommorow, she would of been 16? 15, a very young age. she could of been enjoying her life right now but instead, these fat bitches had to cyberbully her to death, and also liberarls like colin.
happy early birthday megan, im sorry this had to happen this way. only the good die young.

Tyler-
you are awesome. fuck these people who dont understand how crappy ashley grills and lori drew are.
Would I dance around like a depraved person if these two useless slimeballs killed themselves? Yes. I would dance the night away.
If these two people had physically beat up the little girl no one would be defending either of them.. but since the abuse was phsychological some want to give ashley grills a free pass. Not me.
Let ‘em fry!!!!
November 26th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
I can only imagine how Megans parents are feeling. I personally feel that you should know better then to bully someone around. Especially at 18.
As a parent myself I would do every thing known to man kind to make sure someone is punished for their actions on causing my child to go beyond being depressed and commiting sucide.
Yes, These people who caused Megan to do this are having to deal with the guilt the rest of their lives. That does not mean they should walk clean handed over the situation. Some type of justice has to be done. This girl ended her life over a “fake” myspace and over harsh comments people said to her. If these comments were not made she would still be alive right now. Her parents wouldn’t have to grieve for the rest of their lives because they lost their little girl. Megan could have grown up to be the first woman president or ANYTHING for that matter. Its a shame Megan didn’t see it before she ended her life. At 13 kids are so confused on what they want to do in life and base EVERYTHING around friends and boyfriend/girlfriends. I know that first hand from my little brother dealing with it (16yr old). Hes more interested in friends then anything else. He will talk to me on the phone and tell me more about what is going on in his life with friends then about school. So having someone hurt you in that manner plays a huge part in your life at that age. You don’t know any different.
Of course we don’t know the FULL story of what really happened to end in these comments and we will never know for sure if these girls/women really knew about her depression problems.
If anything we should be praying for Mr. and Mrs. Meier. They are going to have to deal with this for the rest of their lives knowing they will never see their daughter again. My heart goes out to this family during this time and I hope things will become easier as time passes.
November 27th, 2008 at 9:54 am
Telling someone to go kill themselves is not murder. Handing them a gun maybe would be reckless conduct at best.
Years ago I had this party where a girl kept saying the police were coming. I berated her and she killed herself the next day. As the first person attempted to blame me I replied that she must have had other reasons.
If I were that powerful, to cause people to off themselves with words, then there’s a list of al quaida jerks I need to work on. And speaking of that, under the mob rant theory being espoused, if Bin Laden couldn’t take it anymore and committed suicide because of all the bad things being said about him on the internet, I guess we should all line up at the jail to get our punishment.
The duplicity of the public at large is amazing. You enjoy being stupid. You revel in it.
November 29th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I am amazed at some of the remarks i read here.
She made a mistake, she has suffered enough, she was only 18 and more of that rubbish.
This is what it boils down 2, she is a cold hearted, cruel beach who would probably still be harassing the poor girl, if she had not decided to take her own life.
I hope this will haunt her till the day she dies, i want people to call her names on the street, pee in her garden, write hate mails, write graffiti on her car and make her feel sexually inadequete.
But in case someone is found crazy enough to knock her up, leave her children alone.
December 1st, 2008 at 9:40 pm
I personally find this ironic…….they found it so humorous to threaten and bully a 13 year old girl and now when it is being done to them they don’t like it. Do they think she did? Should we not enjoy their pain now like they did hers? An eye for an eye. What they did was just so wrong and mean on so many levels and I believe they knew it and did not care because of their own reasons. Megan’s reasons for it to stop did not matter. For all of that I believe they are getting all that is coming to them and I do believe they should face criminal charges all of them not just Lori although her being the only “adult” she should face more than the others. She was supposed to be the role model to her daughter and Ashley and she failed that job so amazingly bad. She was supposed to teach the girls right and chose to teach and condone wrong instead. For that shouldn’t she lose her children as well? That seems like it is not very good parenting to me and maybe away from her, her daughter stands a chance to be a decent and kind young woman. This whole tragedy was just too unimaginable and so preventable. I would like to also tell the parents of Megan, that I am so very sorry for the loss of your extremely beautiful daughter. I know from experience that the death of a child is unbearable pain and it never ends, you just almost in a way get used to them being gone but it always causes a sadness and you never forget that loss. My heart goes out to you and you are in my thoughts. God bless your family and I hope you can find some happiness some day soon.

Can someone explain to me what role if any Drew’s husband had in this?
December 29th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
I’m writing a paper on this story. Some things don’t make sense though… children use homosexuality as an insult and it is wrong, Megan did resort to using homosexuality as an insult. but she stopped. Megan had depression and didn’t think clearly. She should not have listened to Lori, Sarah, Jessica, and Ashley. but she did. she believed them too, she was young naive and unstable. i too am young naive and have depression too. i have been bullied via internet as well and i wish that more people could learn how it hurts. yes this girl shouldn’t have listened to these women, she shouldn’t have believed them when they called her fat which yes is ironic. Ashley created the site but was paid to do it bye drew. Drew’s daughter was a part of this too and Jessica. i believe no one should be granted immunity and they should all be charged. if a man did this it would be over and done with because it would be an obvious internet predator. and more charges, but because it was 3 adults 2 minors and the internet. everyone baffled and cant figure it out,. charge them all. yes the kids too, and saying mean things can kill a person. no there was no gun involved, but a child died, because her “boyfriend” became someone else, because he wasn’t real and she believed he was. he made her happy and then one day he made her so heartbroken her heart stopped. may she rest in peace and us all learn from this, compassion could have saved her. we can talk about what could have been and would have been but it wont be. we can only do. we can only act on what we have now, and that’s 5 guilty people, and a tortured soul passed. i thank you who post because i need different views for my paper. (but seriously some of you are off about it. some i think just like to hear their own voice and see their own words, except they don’t make any sense and really don’t correlate )

Ashley Grills should just go ahead and kill herself.
The world will be a better place without her….
July 4th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
Lori was just found not guilty of the crazy charges they threw at her. (July 2009) A civil trial would be better.
As to Ashley, she indicated her true sanity by deleting the MySpace account just as Lori told the neighbor (and probably her daughter too) to shut up. That is the mark of a criminal mind covering up wrong-doing. These 3 knew exactly what they were doing and did not care the harm they caused. If justice is not served by our system, ostracism by society is a deserved result.
September 21st, 2009 at 6:49 pm
Even though Megan may have done mistakes in friendships, what Lori Drew did is HORRIBLE. I just can’t understand why the woman isn’t even in PRISON right now. Her attitude as an adult and MOTHER is outrageous. If I were her, I would just be ashamed of carrying on with my life. I hope she realizes her huge mistake and goes to talk to the Meier family.
February 9th, 2010 at 8:11 pm
wow, all i was tryin to do was see if anyone else in the world had the same name as me and i came across this….this is sad, what must have been going through those grown womens heads to do something like that……and for all you people who say that everyone makes mistakes and that they shouldnt be harshly punished all i have to say is that yes people make mistakes but they also face the consequences and obviously these women didnt plan on facing thier consequences as they deleted the account and pretended nothing happened, and i believe somewhere it said that one of the women even pretended to comfort the family, that is someone who knew what they did and if they truely felt any remorse and realized what they hd done i do believe they wouldnt have been able to face the family and lie to them straight to thier face. THIS UNFORTUNATE EVENT HAS REALLY MADE ME OPEN MY EYES AND ALTHOUGH IM SURE THE FAMILY OF THIS YOUNG GIRL WILL NEVER FEEL JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED, WITHOUT THEIR DAUGHTER IN THIER ARMS, I DO HOPE THEY REALIZE THAT THIS STORY HAS ARAISED AWARENESS IN MY HOUSEHOLD, AND IM SURE MANY MORE.

by reading this promise to ur self that u wont make a mistake like this just because u dont like someone doesnt mean u torcher the person never make a mistake like this megan would never be forgotten
