Joe Barron Prestonwood - Pics and video of the Joe Barron arrest, where the Prestonwood Baptist Church minister was busted on camera by a police undercover officer posing as a 13-year old girl.
The arrest of Joe Barron, Prestonwood Baptist church Plano, TX minister by an undercover police sting targeting Internet predators soliciting young girls online shocked the close-knit, Dallas-area megachurch.

Plano, Texas police say 52-year-old Joe Barron thought he’d been chatting online with a 13-year-old girl who wanted to “hook up” with an older man, when in reality it was a police officer posing as a young girl.
Barron - who ministered to married adults and was one of 20 ministers at the huge 26,000 member church - was caught with condoms and a web cam in his pickup truck, which he’d driven 200 miles to Bryan, Texas to meet a young girl.
Police say he planned to give the web cam to the girl so they could keep in touch online after their encounter.

Plano, TX police Sgt. Shane Bush said: “I asked him what his initial thoughts were and he said, shame, guilt, grief. Those were some of his words.”

Prestonwood Baptist Church issued a statement, “We are disturbed and saddened by the reports we have heard and we are praying for the Barron family.”

Interesting that everyone is leaving info like Hypocrites, perverts, spiritual leaders… If people truly understood the gospel, they would never expect anyone that claims to be a Christian to be anything but a Hypocrite! Are you nuts? Of course a Christian is a Hypocrite and a liar and a thief, and a pervert… and a Real Christian knows it… i.e. the Prostitute, thief on the cross! Paul professed to be the “chief of sinners” that means MORE of a sinner than Joe Barron… smoke on that… King David Murdered a Man (a man fighting for the King in battle) to get by with getting his wife pregnant. THAT’S THE GOSPEL! That ALL HAVE BROKEN EVERY COMAND OF GOD! That’s why they need a savior. You people have just confused Religion with Jesus Christ, God of the Universe. It’s the Religious people that never could get it… apparently most here don’t either. If a person goes/attends a “church” where the people attending look and act “good”… you are in a place far closer to Hell than Heaven. Jesus hung with the Sinners… NOT THE GOOD FOLK!! But they were broken and honest about it and wanted a savior. It is repulsive that places like Prestonwood are so Lost and still don’t get it 2k yrs later. Still pullin the same Crap that the Pharisees did… “Playing” churchy church/religion. Until and unless the “church” (by that I mean true Christians not people going to watch the big show) starts showing up Eagerly willing to dump all their Filthy Garbage for all to see and being REAL… They will continue to have zero real impact on the world. Prestonwood is the place to go…NOT to Belong… Horrible place to try to find/follow Jesus. Look and find the openly hurting and broken, willing to give up their pride and be honest of their CURRENT sin… not just past.

There is not a church in existence, big or small, that is not wall-to-wall with sinnners. For better or worse, it’s the mega-churches/ministries that take the hit. When a pastor, or elite member, is exposed for a biggy sin, big news shows up in big places. Sin of all sizes and shapes, and certainly no different from Joe Barron’s, is running rampant all the way from Prestonwood in Dallas, Texas, to Podunk Church, Podunk City, USA. The only difference is that it doesn’t make front page news or the internet. In shock, we Christians and Non-Christians ponder “how could this man, (Joe Barron) who is daily surrounded by other Christ-followers, serving God in a high position at Prestonwood, be a pedophile? Are his brothers and sisters in Christ oblivious to obvious signs of dsyfunction, because the signs exist? Does his family suffer from tunnel vision? Are his friends too busy to notice the red flags that are flying at high mast? Is his facade really that good? No web security in place at church? The current stats reflect that 50% of pastors are hooked on web porno… the question is not WHY, but what are we, the body of Christ, doing about it???? Are we walking around with blinders and a smile on our face worrying about our four and no more? Are we interceding for the man of God that we know satan is attacking 24/7? Are we so busy running to soccer practice, little league, dance lessons, social events, and climbing the corporate ladder, that we fail to recognize the pain that our brothers are wanting to reveal? And yes, we all have a need to confess our sins, despite the consequences. God does not judge sin on a 1-10 scale. Man does, but God is a God of order and tells us to obey authority/rules/laws. Thank goodness, one does not go to prison for adultery (gosh, where and how would the government house so many?)
Brother Joe is going to be singing his praises from a prison cell, but God has a plan, (plans to prosper him and not harm him and to give him a future and a hope-
(Jer 29:11) but it’s up to Joe as to whether or not he wants to follow God’s plan or continue to follow his “free will”. Look in the mirror, who and what do you see? Can you cast the first stone? Our nation makes Sodom & Gomorrah look angelic. Sin is not going to disappear…not as long as planet earth exist, but we do not have to be controlled by it. We have one choice, and that is to cry out to God, as a sinner, and then allow Him to complete the good work He started in us. (Phil. 1:6) We can’t do it on our own. There is no self-help program, 12-step program, 2-step dance or a microwavable recipe that will heal us of our dysfunctions. Pastors have to stop being concerned about the “big tithers” and the fear that their numbers will decline. Feeding the flock a “feel good message” will send them back home with the same funk in their trunk. Parents have to get back to enforcing “morals” in the home. Kids must “reap” what they have sown in order to become responsible adults. If a couple wants children, then they must be prepared to make sacrifices, and stay home and raise their children. There is no babysitter, nanny, school teacher, daycare center, or even a grandma that can take their place.
Joe Barron is blessed by God and one of the privileged; God loved him so much that He exposed his sin so that he can be admonished, delivered, set free and healed, because Joe Barron, at this moment in time, is a very sick and miserable child of God. He has two choices; (1) he can repent, seek God’s face, ask for forgiveness, help, grace and mercy, and let God start to clean him up from the inside out or (2) he can die in his shame, guilt, self-pity, selfishness, and in his demonic condition. Isn’t the real issue how many more “pedophiles” are operating in the church (and outside as well) that won’t get exposed, and will continue to exploit young girls? Isn’t the real question, WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT? (other than judging and burying our head in the sand). One thing for sure, without true repentance, and Holy Ghost conviction, the number is infinite.
God did not put characters like David in the bible to be our role model. He knew we would continue to sin. The purpose is to show us that when we have committed every sin known to man, (which obviously isn’t our goal) that His love is still available and unconditional, because of what Christ did on the Cross. As long as we continue to seek Him with an open, honest, and pure heart, (as David did) He can repair the damage, and get the glory.

This is just sad. I understand no Christian is perfect, but for a minister of the Lord to sink to this low is embarrassing.
I hope they throw the book at him, he deserves it.

Gee where are the good guys?
This knuckel head was swallowed up in the biggest battle in history and never even realized he was on the fireing line. Let it be a lesson to those who “want to do good”
you WILL be tested and refined in the fire to be a vessel of god. Think of it… if you are at war don’t you want to take out an officer once in a while and demoralize the troops. The oppisition NEVER rests and suiffs around like a hungry lion for exposed weekies like barron.
ALL are sinners and outside of Christs protection. We are fodder for the enimies of God. If you harbor dark secret places in your heart and mind that “only you ” are aware of back out of the line of fire seek help from Christ (through whom ever he sends to you) and restore your streingth through humility. We have God to thank for stories like this that end well (no child hurt). Than God for a vigilant police that commit themselves to dealing with mankinds inhumane treatment of our own.
If you take God’s money…….he keeps account!!!

This megachurch phenomenon is fascinating. It’s just the opposite of what true Christianity is - socialistic and communistic - where we’re only as good as the least of us. Where everyone is entitled to a share of the pot.
I love to see these rich, holy, Texan Republican perverts go down. Makes me think that there is a god after all.
Amen.

I’ve heard a lot of atheists and various blasphemers but…
WHO ARE YOU TO BLASPHEME THE SON OF GOD?
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
God demonstrated this among other ways, BY RAISING HIM FROM THE DEAD.
Christianity is not Joe Barron. It’s not any man. IT’S NOT A BUILDING FULL OF MEN, It’s certainly not you Hussein.
CHRISTIANITY IS THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD. The Father commanded His servant Isaiah to prophesy of His Son’s coming 700 years before He came to die for you.
By the way, prophets profess. They are servants of God.
The transgressors on that day, also mocked He who saved you. Their transgressions were short lived. Glory to God.
Behold, your blasphemy of the Son of God that you blasphemously call (of all things) a communist…
Isaiah 53(NIV):
Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
And who can speak of his descendants?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.
Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
After the suffering of his soul,
he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

I’ll try to sink to the level of a theist and argue … if religion is the source of morality, then why people who preach and practice it are such immoral hypocrites? A leading bodybuilder is definitely strong, a leading scientist is definitely knowledgeable but how come a leading religious leader is such an immoral hypocrite?

OK, such relief to find the demon and exorcise him from the people of God. There is no excuse for his behavior, but there is even less for the sense of vengeance I find here. Jesus is not about - the bad guy getting what he deserves. God does not hate who we hate, nor will God’s vengeance come on those we think deserve it. My recollection is that 60% of what Jesus had to say was about forgiveness. I believe he meant it. We must be protected from those who commit offenses against children, but the vitriol spewing from those who claim to follow Christ is simply that - poison from inside of each of us. His poisonous self was caught. We display ours as if such attitudes were godly. They are not. To protect our children from such people (who are broken to say the least) is a necessity. To do it as if they were less than human is one of those sins we don’t like to think about.

What’s funny is to watch all the Christers take all sides of the issue - condemnation, compassion, judgment, ridicule, vengence, love, etc. If y’all would wise up to the fact that religion (Christianity and others) is simply contrived controls from the early (Roman Catholic) church from more ancient egyptian and gnostic beliefs, twisted to control people into submission, and you’d realize that the Son is REALLY the SUN in the sky. All biblical stories are metaphors on the sun’s journey through the constellations - there is no REAL divinity - it’s all been made up. But, alas, most of you need something eternal to believe in, so you’ll never find that truth. Anyone trully wanting to know, simply see truthbeknown.com. Or watch part 1 of Zeitgeist, the movie.

Are you people kidding me? This guy is a child rapist. He’s 50 some years old, going after somebody’s daughter. How many has he already raped? He’s paid a HUGE salary, has all kinds of academic education, got the bible in his hand, & is supposed to be saved.
I don’t care if he wasn’t saved, going after children? Even heathen no better than this. He’s a piece of crap. Yeah, I’m a sinner, but I ain’t chasing 13 year old little girls.
Why can’t he just be normal, drink a brew or something?

Think, people.
Religion = Sheep. Religion tries to give us definition, truth, and a path. But fails miserably. Yes, you feel the “lord” within you - and others who believe opposite of you feel the “lord” within them (so, who’s right?), you feel that “your religion” is better than the others out there today, and better than the hundreds that have passed on.
As a former member of Prestonwood, I’m glad I’ve seen the light and turned away from Religion, in all of it’s forms.
The true God, the Creator Universe — so great, even our simple human minds cannot begin to comprehend the vastness of it all — is the only truth. We’d like to believe there’s a personal God, whom we can communicate with, but I need more proof than faith alone.
Einstein said it best: ” I cannot conceive of a personal God who would directly influence the actions of individuals, or would directly sit in judgment on creatures of his own creation. I cannot do this in spite of the fact that mechanistic causality has, to a certain extent, been placed in doubt by modern science.
My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit that reveals itself in the little that we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality. Morality is of the highest importance-but for us, not for God. ”
Exactly.

“You without sin cast the first stone”
June 1st, 2008 at 3:02 pm
I believe people committ these acts is because they think the Lord forgives anything sinful, but that should not be the case. Wish it never read in the bible that Jusus forgives all sin. Thats why people continue sinning. I myself have a conscious,and try to walk like Jesus.
June 5th, 2008 at 2:39 am
i do not understand the problem..I thought Christ died on the cross for the sin of Christians, if that is the case then why u guys are shouting for someone who just commited a sin??? believe that jesus died for ur sin and do more sin, and finally u´ll be thrown into Hell, because in whole bible no where Jesus said that ´I am dyeing for ur sin on the cross´…its ur hypocrite priest whom u consider as god, makes u fool and ultimately u´ll end up going to hell with ur priest because u r lying in the name of Jesus, who never claimed he is god, u people made him god to follow ur desire. Wake up, repent to God, and God alone, not priest or pope or Jesus but God, the Almighty, Eternal, Creator of the Heaven and the Earth. To know more read the last testament, The Quran.

I am saddened to know that this happened. We must realize that we are ALL human. We are not without sin and the one and only person to walk on this earth without sin, we crucified. I pray for the Barron family and friends. Those that judge, I pray for you. Romans 3:23

All belief systems are based on some type of faith. Christianity teaches faith in Christ for salvation…In Islam, one must have faith that Mohammad is the means by which salvation is achieved…atheists must have faith that there is no God so as to avoid an eternity in hell. Regardless of what we believe, there is some sort of faith involved. There is absolutely NO way to either prove or DIS-prove the existence of a God…this is why beliefs are based on faith. Since science teaches us that SOMETHING canNOT come from nothing, then common sense says Earth and everything else in space was designed by some sort of higher power, therefore, I put my faith in that power, not in an imperfect man. If I am wrong and atheists are right, then I nor any atheist will ever know I was wrong…however, if the atheists are wrong, then everyone of you will know one day. Faith…believing in something you cannot see or prove.

Couldn’t have happened to a more hypocritical church.
The operators of this “mega church” need to run background checks on everyone - including their leadership.
Someone said previously that God “exposed his sins so he could be redeemed” or some such thing.
Considering that if there really was a 13-year old girl that he was meeting - I don’t think she would have called it “SINS” when he exposed it.
Throw away the key. He can preach his pederasty to his fellow inmates and see how they respond.
