Here’s how lovely 18-year old Taylor Swift looked on the red carpet at the 43rd Academy of Country Music Awards at The MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 18, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Taylor took the stage toward the end of the show to perform her hit song “Should’ve Said No” dressed in jeans and a hoodie, strumming an acoustic guitar while seated on a stool.
About a minute into the song, her backup dancers grabbed her hoodie and rippped her clothes off, leaving Taylor wearing a simple black dress.
Then, she really opened up and started belting out the lyrics while the crowd got totally into it.
Even better, Taylor Swift really brought down the house by stepping into an onstage rain storm to bring the some home. Watch the video below of Taylor’s ACM performance because it was truly legendary!

Taylor even thanked her mom in her acceptance speech for going out on the road with her a age 16 so she could pursue her dream.
Looks like it’s paying off bigtime for 18-year old Taylor Swift, the new country superstar.

Taylor Swift’s Blog Post About Her ACM Performance
“I’ve dreamt about that performance since I was in middle school,” the 18-year-old singer says on her MySpace Celebrity page.
“I’ve always wanted to perform an angry song and have water rain down from the ceiling and have a little freakout onstage.”
Swift and awards show producers rigged up the “rain” performance as a surprise for her fans.
“Oh, and the water was like 40 degrees. So cold,” she adds.
