Marie Ann Thiebaud – The Shania Twain divorce is being blamed on Marie Ann Thiebaud, a 38-year old Swiss woman who worked for Twain and husband Mutt Lange as their estate manager.
Mutt Lange claims Marie Ann Thiebaud is not to blame for their split, but Shania’s reps say that the singer was devastated by her husband’s affair with the pretty blonde estate manager who ran their country chateau in Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland.
Shania Twain, 42, and Mutt Lange, 59, were married in 1993 after a six-month courtship. They have a 6-year-old son, Eja (pronounced “Asia”) D’Angelo Lange.
Here’s the only known photo showing Marie Ann Thiebaud with Mutt Lange, Shania Twain and their son Eja Lange. Thiebaud is the tall blonde behind Shania helping Lange with the luggage.
A close friend of Shania’s told People magazine that Twain is “devastated. This came out of left field … She loved him.”
Longtime friends close to the situation say that Marie Ann Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple’s chateau outside Geneva, Switzerland, was at the center of the break-up.
“It’s absolutely not the reason for the separation,” famously reclusive producer Mutt Lange said when asked about the alleged affair. He also denied that he was in a romantic relationship with Thiébaud: “I’m not, no,” he said. “It’s not true.”
“Mutt and Marie Ann left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship,” another source told People.
Shania is working on another album to be released this year. Her new CD features an updated version of her signature song, “Man! I Feel Like There’s Another Woman!”

Well.. I’d like to say just Robert Mutt is a big idiot. It’s not easy to find a woman like Shania Twain these days. Besides being a pretty woman she’s a big mother and deeply talented. I am a brazilian fan of Shania Twain and I’m always updated about her news, her hits etc. So, I can say that I am as devasted as her about this awful news. I just hope that Marie Ann is worth because is not that easy to replace Shania at all.Being a strong woman like Shania is, I know she will get over this pretty soon. Shame on Mutt Lange for just letting his marriage go as he seems to have done. Just shouldn’t happen to someone so talented and beautiful especially with the tragedy of her parents. Lots of guy like us would be so happy with someone as gorgeous as Shania. I was just wondering what happened to Shania as I was recently speaking to a gentleman in Timmins Ontario and since Shania is from there.. I Googled her and found she lives in Switzerland and is worth $300-$500 million…but what impressed me the most is she has the hallmark of an exceptional person…humility..as her wealth never got the best of her.
I do really wish her well and I could only hope to meet someone in life such as her. One day..someone such as her is rare.

mutt lange is well, not the sort of guy a girl would go for. But for shania this is a difficult time, because she loved this guy who is the father of her child, and who helped her in her career. But I hope she realizes she is the one who worked hard, not him, she is the one who gave birth to a beautiful boy, went through the pregnancy, not him. If he did what he did to her, then Shania let him go, there are better times for you ahead, you have to believe that, some of us who have been through this know it to be true.

The fact is that each party in a marriage is 100% responsible for their role IN the marriage, BUT an affair is 100% the fault of the cheating spouse…it has nothing to do with Shania and everything to do with a decision her husband made – he’s broken somehow and no matter what went on inside their marriage only Mutt is 100% to blame for the choice he made to go outside their marriage for a little nookie. Wow- what shallow comments. I live just outside Nashville and Ms. Twain (AKA Eileen Edwards) does not have a good reputation in these parts. She is known to be rude and unpleasant. I fly for a major airline and have not encountered her, but our crews that have say that she was a royal B. That said, no one deserves to be cheated on if that is indeed what happened. Who knows? Shania is unquestionably beautiful and talented (albeit without Mutt) but no one knows what goes on behind closed doors of a marriage. Men require constant stroking, ego feeding, and attention. Has been some time since the split happened. Nobody can know the personal dynamics between 2 people and sometimes things do change and people grow apart. I am not defending either party other to say that I love what Shania has given us in her professional life, and I admire the talent that Mutt has–they were a great team professionally–and made a go of it personally for a few years.
Mutt said he & Marie did not have an affair that split up the marriage, and that they are just friends like Shania and Fred (Marie’s ex) are. Who knows? Maybe it is really as simple as Shania and Mutt were more compatible with Fred and Marie (separately) than each other.
There’s just so many possibilities on both the personal and professional levels. I just want to thank Shania and Mutt for the years of music enjoyment they created for all of us. Mutt will be a tough if not impossible act to follow in the producer’s chair. The rest I don’t need to know.

SO bloody sick of all the “Shania is hot, hence how could Mutt leave her ?” crap. Look at Prince Charles sitch. Diana was beautiful, but was so screwed up mentally, Charlie took on Camilla instead. What does this say about beauty? Men get the bad rap either way. If they go for “hot” they are shallow, but when they go for homely, its “look at that hag”! Bottom line is Marie-Ann thrills Mutt more than the fashion model. Average-looking women of the world should embrace and applaud this, there’s still hope for them too, obviously !

It seems that Mutt was a ‘father figure’ for Shania (just look at the age difference for one thing, his bossiness and arrogance for another), so this betrayal is even harder for her.
Shania, you are a class act. You are amazingly beautiful and talented and you exude a loving, loyal soul. You deserve so much better. They deserve whatever is coming to them.

I totally agree with Teresa.
Shania is a liar and as a mixed race person myself I think shania is somewhat racist to even claim a mixed-race identity just to appear exotic and to boost her career. If she were really mixed, then I wouldn’t be offended by that. You can actually see the different races in me visibly by my phenotype!! Everything about her is a lie…but Teresa, we so need to hook up and be friends…and discuss why people even defend celebrities…granted some of them don’t deserve to be criticised unless it’s constructive but even some of them deserve harsh criticism like Shania.
By the way, I’m not jealous over Shania’s looks because she’s had a lot of plastic surgery so she really isn’t even that good-looking. When she was working in McDonald’s and a hotel (back in Canada), as an adult in her mid-twenties, she had terribly crooked teeth! As a child, I can understand if your teeth are bad but as an adult, it’s unacceptable. Her breath used to smell bad and her hotel co-workers wanted her to quit so badly that when she finally did, everyone was thrilled. She was disrespectful to EVERYONE. People that no her closely say she is definitely a woman that exudes beauty and kindness and warmth.

Remember the posters back in the 70′s-80′s that had the picture of Cindy Crawford on them looking so hot? It read, “No matter what she looks like, someone, somewhere, is tired of her crap”.
You can judge anyone by what they look like. Mutt was a big shot that was used to getting anything he wanted.
He took his new wife and left for Europe. Now let’s face it, if you live in Sweden, and are supposed to be a country star, your going to take some crap because the USA isn’t good enough for you. I’m sure there are great people over there, I just looking at it from a promoters point of view.
Now she has to regain her self- confidence back, write new songs, cut new tracks, and work her butt off to get back where she was when she walked away from it.
Just my opinion, but I just do not understand why people (Both men and women) can’t end one relationship before beginning another one.
I don’t know the situation of their breakup. My ex was a beauty, but she had no interest in sex. She told me to go “elsewhere, just be discreet”. I can’t do that. I had to finish the divorce before I’d even go out. Again, just me, but I can look at myself in the mirror.

I seen her on the Oprah show last night and it seems to me she’s showing off her new beau and talking about her father slamming her mother’s head in the toilet bowl and all with something on her face like toilet paper or crap.

Shania and Fred i am so happy you are together and happly in love. for years i think thats what made you married MUTT because you wanted to be happy and in love with your husband,or should i say friend.because i think when a man and woman get marry its basic on having a good friend,lover,and someone you can talk to each and everyday about anying, and if you have a problem he or she would help you solve it.Now back to MUTT i think in that case just as you say in your book you have had a losts of ups and down.So when you met MUT for the first time he took you to parts of the world you hasnt ever seen before and in your head a Bell Ring and said you better get this now before someone else get it. Stop this foolishness! All these armchair critics! Mutt is reclusive and never leaves the house. Shania was constantly on the road, all over the world. Things happen in marriage after a while. The communication stopped, the making love stopped, the marriage slowly started breaking down. Mutt got lonely and Marianne was an available opportunity. It’s sad, but it’s life. Get over it people. It happens people, and it isn’t about looks or money or whatever else you might think. Shania and Mutt are human beings who both crap in the toilet twice a day, just like everyone else. Beauty isn’t everything, and life/love doesn’t wait for anyone.
