Marie Ann Thiebaud - The Shania Twain divorce is being blamed on Marie Ann Thiebaud, a 38-year old Swiss woman who worked for Twain and husband Mutt Lange as their estate manager.
Mutt Lange claims Marie Ann Thiebaud is not to blame for their split, but Shania’s reps say that the singer was devastated by her husband’s affair with the pretty blonde estate manager who ran their country chateau in Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland.
Shania Twain, 42, and Mutt Lange, 59, were married in 1993 after a six-month courtship. They have a 6-year-old son, Eja (pronounced “Asia”) D’Angelo Lange.
Here’s the only known photo showing Marie Ann Thiebaud with Mutt Lange, Shania Twain and their son Eja Lange. Thiebaud is the tall blonde behind Shania helping Lange with the luggage.
A close friend of Shania’s told People magazine that Twain is “devastated. This came out of left field … She loved him.”
Longtime friends close to the situation say that Marie Ann Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple’s chateau outside Geneva, Switzerland, was at the center of the break-up.
“It’s absolutely not the reason for the separation,” famously reclusive producer Mutt Lange said when asked about the alleged affair. He also denied that he was in a romantic relationship with Thiébaud: “I’m not, no,” he said. “It’s not true.”
“Mutt and Marie Ann left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship,” another source told People.
Shania is working on another album to be released this year. Her new CD features an updated version of her signature song, “Man! I Feel Like There’s Another Woman!”

Well.. I’d like to say just Robert Mutt is a big idiot. It’s not easy to find a woman like Shania Twain these days. Besides being a pretty woman she’s a big mother and deeply talented. I am a brazilian fan of Shania Twain and I’m always updated about her news, her hits etc. So, I can say that I am as devasted as her about this awful news. I just hope that Marie Ann is worth because is not that easy to replace Shania at all.Being a strong woman like Shania is, I know she will get over this pretty soon. She defitively didn’t deserve it at all. Another (bad ) comment: Mutt was lucky of having Shania in his arms because she is more beautiful than him.

This is truly sad to hear. Shania is one of the most talented women in the history of country music and does not deserve to endure this, if the reports are true. She will move on with her life and become stronger as a result of this. There is no other woman with greater beauty than Shania and can move you with a song. Shame on Mutt Lange for just letting his marriage go as he seems to have done. Shame on him for putting himself before his little boy, his family, and the woman who expressed her love for him so sweetly in lyric and in song. “Mutt” is living up to his name, and in appearance could not be more unattractive.
Also, it always seemed so heartless of him to pull Shania far away from her home and family to live in Switzerland and New Zealand.

Just shouldn’t happen to someone so talented and beautiful especially with the tragedy of her parents. Lots of guy like us would be so happy with someone as gorgeous as Shania. I was just wondering what happened to Shania as I was recently speaking to a gentleman in Timmins Ontario and since Shania is from there.. I Googled her and found she lives in Switzerland and is worth $300-$500 million…but what impressed me the most is she has the hallmark of an exceptional person…humility..as her wealth never got the best of her.
I do really wish her well and I could only hope to meet someone in life such as her. One day..someone such as her is rare.

mutt lange is well, not the sort of guy a girl would go for. But for shania this is a difficult time, because she loved this guy who is the father of her child, and who helped her in her career. But I hope she realizes she is the one who worked hard, not him, she is the one who gave birth to a beautiful boy, went through the pregnancy, not him. If he did what he did to her, then Shania let him go, there are better times for you ahead, you have to believe that, some of us who have been through this know it to be true.

Well said Lilly. Mutt is a fool for leaving one of th most desirable women in the world! Shania provided a loving home and was being a wonderful mother and wife. She is so old fashioned in nature and family oriented. Marriage meant a lot to her and seems Mutt likes to change it up every few years. Jerk. At least now Shania can go home to Canada and be close to a loving family and not isolated like in Switzerland and New Zealand with her wacko husband. I feel so sorry for you Shania. We were sad to hear that Shania Twain was separating from her husband of 14yrs. I believe that only time will heal her pain. I think that it’s naive to always lay blame on a man for “running around”. Just because someone appears good in a spotlight, doesn’t dictate their behavior outside the circus.

The fact is that each party in a marriage is 100% responsible for their role IN the marriage, BUT an affair is 100% the fault of the cheating spouse…it has nothing to do with Shania and everything to do with a decision her husband made - he’s broken somehow and no matter what went on inside their marriage only Mutt is 100% to blame for the choice he made to go outside their marriage for a little nookie. That being said, it is not up to us to determine the cause of their breakup. I do hope that she can move forward and be stronger as a result, and not bash herself for his wrong choices.

Wow- what shallow comments. I live just outside Nashville and Ms. Twain (AKA Eileen Edwards) does not have a good reputation in these parts. She is known to be rude and unpleasant. I fly for a major airline and have not encountered her, but our crews that have say that she was a royal B. That said, no one deserves to be cheated on if that is indeed what happened. Who knows? But seriously, if Halle Barry, Jennifer Aniston and Shania Twain can’t hold a man’s interest - hat should tell you that it takes more than some silicone and botox to make a man love you. Shania is unquestionably beautiful and talented (albeit without Mutt) but no one knows what goes on behind closed doors of a marriage. Men require constant stroking, ego feeding, and attention. If they don’t get these things at home 24/7, they’ll find it elsewhere and I’m not talking about just physical attention. I’m 100% convinced that any man is capable of cheating. Look at Jane Fonda and Christie Brinkley. Talk about getting blindsided. Did their looks, fame and money secure their relationships? Get wise, girls. Men will always justify a decision to have an affair (in their little pea brains). Shania is a survivor. She had to grow up quickly and take responsibility for her siblings at a very young age. Once the pain subsides from losing Mutt, she’ll be fine and life will once again be good.
