Cindy Mort – her real name is Cynthia Mort – is an extremely talented writer and producer who wrote the screenplay for “The Brave One” which is where she met Jodie Foster.
Jodie and Cindy have had a secret romance for the last two years because Foster has been living with Cydney Bernard for 14 years and they are raising their two children together, Kit Bernard Foster and Charles Bernard Foster, seen in photo below.
Cynthia “Cindy” Mort has eight screenplays to her credit and has written for Roseanne, Will & Grace, and her current HBO series, “Tell Me You Love Me”, which Cynthia both writes and produces.

The breakup of Jodie Foster and Cydney Bernard surprised a lot of people because Jodie had basically come out of the closet only six months ago.
Jodie thanked “my beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss” when she accepted the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the 16th annual Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast.
Characterizing herself as a “professional” and a “gentleman,” Foster admitted: “I always feel like something of an impostor. I don’t know what I’m doing. I suppose that’s my one little secret, the secret of my success.”
Foster recently split from her long-time partner, Cydney Bernard, to be with Cindy Mort, who she fell in love with while they worked on filming her her screenplay, “The Brave One” in 2006.
While Foster and Bernard remain living together, Cynthia Mort is her new lover.
“Although she and Cydney remain under the same roof at the moment, the relationship has been shattered,” a source told reporters. “They’ll continue to raise the boys together and try to keep a loving family unit despite their breakup. The love is gone.”

Cindy Mort and Melanie Mayron
Foster’s latest love interest, Cynthia Mort, is a screenwriter and producer who’s worked on shows such as Will and Grace and Roseanne.
Recently Mort executive produced HBO’s one-hour relationship drama, Tell Me You Love Me, on which her ex-partner, thirtysomething’s Melanie Mayron was a director.
Cindy Mort also has two children that she shares with Melanie Mayron. The ex-partners, who’ve remained friendly, live in separate homes on the same Los Angeles street.

Jodie is a class act. Too bad the marriage didn’t survive, I’m sure she did her best. People should give her and Cydney a break, I’m sure this is a difficult time for all involved. Jodie’s really cute and she’s really down to earth — a little guarded, but real.
Inane beauty is a dime a dozen in this town. Everyone looks good in the business, so finding that diamond in the rough is a lot harder in Hollywood than finding the next big tittied babe. Insecure people (maybe 85% of the people out there) put a lot of value on outer appearance as their main criteria when selecting a companion. Hot is good, but a rarer find is the person that has something really attractive aside from their doctor-wittled titties and noses. I’m a total native of LA and let me tell you something, inane beauty is everywhere in this town — like scampering cockroaches, breeding more and more mediocre, botoxed mutton. There needs to be something amazing going on behind their eyes or I’d be bored after one night.

Quite saddened by the news that Ms. Foster had been unfaithful for 2 or more years with Ms. Mort – A dreadful shock for Ms. Bernard. Even more of a smack in the face after Ms. F thanks her publically for her support and thus admitting their relationship…..at long last!
It is a great shame after so long and a really BIG smacked wrist to Ms F for going behind her partners back – shame on you ! Probably never quite view you in the same light again
