Brett Favre Finally Quits – After trashing his reputation in Green Bay and stinking it up big time for the New York Jets, Brett Favre is finally calling it quits as an NFL quarterback.

Three-time National Football League MVP Brett Favre is retiring after 18 seasons, New York Jet officials told CNN Wednesday.
The 39-year-old quarterback is expected to hold a teleconference Wednesday afternoon to address questions of his retirement that have circulated since the end of the 2008 season, in which the Jets lost four out of their last five games to finish 9-7 and out of playoff contention.
The team’s Web site quoted Favre writing in an e-mail to ESPN’s Ed Werner, “My time with the Jets was short, but I’m honored to be given that chance.”
Favre spent 16 years with the Green Bay Packers. He announced his retirement at the end of the 2007 season, but changed his mind and attempted to return to the team. The Packers, however, opted to trade him to the Jets instead.
And that’s the latest news on Brett Favre finally quits.

As a far-away (Europe) Packers fan, I am always looking for new sites with Green Bay information.

Brett Favre plans on retiring? I’ll believe it when I see it… They are screwed if they lose him.
