Haleigh Cummings – Florida police are searching for a 5-year-old girl named Haleigh Cummings – aka Hailey Cummings – who disappeared from her mobile home late Monday night.
An Amber Alert was issued shortly after Haleigh Cummings vanished from her bed in her Putnam County, Florida, home, police said.
Authorities launched a massive search for Haleigh in this rural county about 80 miles north of Orlando but had found no trace of the little girl by Tuesday evening.
Ronald Cummings, who is in his 20s, was working Monday night for a company that builds bridges, and his girlfriend, Misty Croslin, 17, woke up and realized Haleigh was missing just before he returned home about 3:30 a.m., according to Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Croslin alerted authorities while Ronald Cummings began to search for his daughter. He was soon joined by 130 officers from several law-enforcement agencies withbloodhounds and helicopters.
The double-wide trailer on Green Lane where Haleigh lived with her father, Croslin and a 2-year-old brother showed no sign of forced entry, according to Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. A back door was ajar, sheriff’s Capt. Steve Rose said.
The girl’s mother was at her home in Georgia when Haleigh disappeared. It’s too early, Greenwood said, to say whether a stranger kidnapped Haleigh.
“At this point, all we know is that we have a missing little girl,” he said.
Her father said he thinks that a man snatched Haleigh from her bed.
“All I want is my child … please … all I want is my child,” Ronald Cummings told reporters, his voice breaking.
Ronald Cummings’ girlfriend, Misty Croslin, was the first to discover that the child was missing and called 911.
Haleigh had been put to bed at 8 p.m., the girl’s grandparents told reporters Wednesday. Croslin went to the bathroom two hours later and returned to find the child missing, grandmother Marie Griffis said.
Putman County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jason Nettles told reporters that amassive manhunt for Haleigh was under way Wednesday morning, with more helicopter searches planned as well as extensive searches on the ground using K-9 units.
Nettles said Tuesday he didn’t have information on whether or not Haleigh Cummings’ father, Ronald Cummings, and girlfriend are suspects in her disappearance.
“I don’t know that for sure,” he told media representatives.
“The girlfriend and the father are cooperating with police,” Special Agent Steve Donaway of the Florida Dept of Law Enforcement told reporters on Tuesday.
“It could be an abduction. We’re looking at it from all angles,” Donaway said. Leads have been minimal, he said, and investigators are asking for the public’s help.
Haleigh was reported missing after her father’s girlfriend told police she discovered the child wasn’t in her bed about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Cummings said his girlfriend was awake and frantic after she found the child was gone.
The woman said the back door to the residence was not locked at the time. Police found the door to the trailer home unlocked when they arrived, but there was no sign of forced entry, according to Donaway.
Several registered sex offenders reportedly live in the vicinity of the missing girl’s home in Satsuma, Fla. Donaway said they’ve all been identified, and either have been or will be interviewed by police.
Nettles said he couldn’t confirm whether authorities were worried a sex offender might have abducted Haleigh.
“I don’t think they’ve ruled anything out,” he told reporters.
Haleigh is 3 feet tall and 39 pounds with blond hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and underwear.

On Wednesday, Haleigh’s grandmother Marie Griffis told reporters that she feared the worst.
“She’s out there somewhere, I can feel her. I can feel her presence,” Griffis told CNN affiliate WFTV-TV. “She’s screaming.”
Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield, wept as she stood in front of reporters.
“I just want whoever’s got her to bring her home,” the girl’s mother said. “That’s all I want, is my baby home.”
Griffis said that her daughter and Ronald Cummings had a “rocky relationship” and that the two took turns spending every other weekend with their daughter. Crystal Sheffield lives on the Florida/Georgia line and has been interviewed by law enforcement, according to police.
Investigators are looking into various angles of the case, including finding out the location of 44 registered sexual offenders who live within a five-mile radius of the Cummings home, Greenwood said.

“Just bring her back,” Griffis said. “There are plenty of places you can drop off a kid, no questions asked.”
Detective John Merchant of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said that a screen door on the side of the couple’s Satsuma home had been propped open with a block, but authorities found no obvious signs of forced entry.
“I just woke up and my back door is open, and I can’t find my daughter,” Croslin told a 911 dispatcher. She told the dispatcher she had been sleeping and the door was not open when she went to sleep.

Maybe I’m not getting the story right, or maybe I’m a little whacked out after everythings that has happened with little Caylee…………I don’t know but Misty, the babysitter/girlfriend said she put Haleigh and her brother to bed @ 8:00, then she says she woke up 2 hours later, that would be @ 10:00 and realized Haliegh was missing. Dad comes home from work @ 3:30 A.M. and has girlfriend/babysitter call 911. Well………what was she doing for 5.5 hours until dad came home???? Haleigh did not pick up a house brick and prop the back door open, we know that’s true. Dad said (last night on T. V.) that he has used the back door only when he vaccumes his vehicle, and he made sure the door was closed and locked! Misty, babysitter/girlfriend said the back door was not locked, (according to the above article). Like I said something’s not “jellin” here, and again we all must pray for the safty and the safe return for this little girl. Atleast someone caught her missing before 31 days, and maybe there is a chance of her being alright. The story just does not jive with the way it supposedly went down. Maybe someone can help me out a little in trying to understand this one. I know dad has taken a polygraph and passed it, but there is something in his voice and in his face that’s not conviencing. I agree the initial reports of the timeline sound unreliable.
There is also the issue of Misty saying in one police report that she was sleeping right next to Haleigh when the little girl disapeared…
Also, its ridiculously creepy that 44 registered sex offenders live within a 5-mile radius of their mobile home. Given the low population density there, that area must be the perv capital of Florida…

The 17-year-old girlfriend of a missing Florida girl’s father has taken a lie detector test, a local sheriff said.
He wouldn’t reveal the results of the test, but the father, Ronald Cummings, and his girlfriend, Misty Croslin, said Thursday night during an interview with FOX News’ Greta Van Susteren that they both submitted to polygraphs and both “passed.”
Croslin was the one who reportedly discovered that 5-year-old Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings had vanished from her bed before dawn on Tuesday.
Several people have been interviewed by police and the FBI, and all have been offered the chance to take a lie detector test, Putnam County Sheriff’s spokesman Gary Bowling said.
Detectives believe Haleigh was abducted — and they aren’t overlooking anyone, including family members, as suspects.
Haleigh is 3 feet tall with blond hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and underwear.
Hardy said ground searches continued for a third day on Thursday. Bloodhounds have been used, but haven’t turned up any clear evidence.
“We have nothing definitive to say where the child is based on the bloodhounds,” Hardy told reporters at a Thursday news conference.
He said evidence has been collected from the mobile home where Haleigh lived with her 3-year-old brother Junior, her father, Cummings, and Croslin — but declined to describe it.
“I can’t discuss what evidence was taken into custody,” Hardy said. “I don’t want to reveal what was found or not found.”
Ronald Cummings, told FOX News’ Greta Van Susteren that Croslin was watching his daughter while he was at work as a crane operator.
According to Cummings, Haleigh had gotten up to use the bathroom. When she didn’t return, Croslin went to look for her and noticed the back door was open.
“I locked doors before I left for work. My child cannot unlock the deadbolt, you have to force the door shut all the way … and she doesn’t open the door to strangers,” Cummings said.
Croslin and Cummings called 911 after discovering the girl was missing, according to the police report. The tapes were released Wednesday.
In addition to Croslin, Cummings and the child’s mother, Crystal Sheffield, as well as several others have been questioned in the case.
“It is never safe to say that a family member is not a suspect,” Bowling said Wednesday. “However, all the world is a suspect right now.”
Police have ruled out the possibility that the girl ran away.
“This child didn’t voluntarily walk out of her home. If she did, someone took her,” Bowling said.
Cummings, who has custody of Haleigh and her brother, said his daughter wouldn’t leave on her own.
“I know somebody took her. I know for a fact she didn’t wander off — she’s afraid of the dark,” Cummings told NBC’s “Today” on Thursday.
Police said house-to-house searches of the neighborhood Wednesday found no evidence that the child wandered away.
Police had never been called to the home in the past — but there have been prior problems with Cummings, Croslin and the children, according to Putnam County Capt. Steve Rose.
“There have been some investigations done through the department of children and family,” Rose told FOX News on Wednesday. He didn’t elaborate.
John Harrell, spokesman for the northeast region of the Florida Department of Children and Families, said Thursday that his agency “was involved with the family.” Harrell would not offer any details, citing state confidentiality laws.
Sheffield’s mother, Marie, told Van Susteren that the children seemed to be doing well living with their father.
“Haleigh told us they’ve been hit, and stuff like that, but to this point, everything was fine,” Marie Sheffield said.
There were still no firm leads in the case. Detectives wouldn’t say whether Croslin, Cummings or anyone else in the family were a focus of the investigation.
Haleigh’s grandfather, Johnny Sheffield, said he was distraught about the girl’s disappearance and characterized Croslin as suspicious, though he admitted he didn’t know much about her.
Sheffield told Van Susteren that her children loved their father’s girlfriend, whom he’d been dating for 4 to 6 months.
“She seemed like a really nice person, but I never sat down and had a conversation with her,” she said.
Appearing on FOX News on Thursday, Sheffield answered “yes” when asked whether it was true that Croslin had given conflicting statements to police.
The child’s mother doesn’t live in the area but traveled to Putnam County after she learned of her daughter’s disappearance and has been interviewed, according to Rose.
“She is cooperating,” Rose told FOX News on Wednesday.
Cummings said his girlfriend was awake and frantic after she found Haleigh was gone. But in the police report, obtained by FOX News, Cummings reportedly told officers that his “dumb bitch girlfriend” told him Haleigh was gone when he got home from work.
“Ronald said that he did not know what Haleigh was wearing, and that all he knew was that the back door was standing open. Ronald repeatedly said that someone had taken his child and also said ‘When I find him I’ll kill him,’” police wrote in the report.
He referred to a 9mm Beretta handgun he owns and said if authorities found his daughter’s kidnapper, “he would shoot them through the back window of the patrol car,” the police report said.
Deputies said Thursday they’re in the process of questioning 44 registered sex offenders who live within five miles of Haleigh’s home.
An uncle, Andrew Sheffield, believes she is alive, but the mystery of her whereabouts continues.
“It’s fishy,” he said. “Somebody knows something.”
George Anthony, the grandfather of slain Florida toddler Caylee Anthony, met with Haleigh’s father Thursday. Anthony said he was there simply to offer moral support.

Misty Croslin, 17, has told different stories to police and the media about what happened, according to MyFOXOrlando.com.
Investigators say Croslin told them she was sleeping in the same bed with Haleigh and her little brother Junior.
She told media a slightly different version of events.
“I put her to bed around 8 o’clock and I woke up and she was gone and the back door was wide open,” Croslin said. “The last time I seen her was when I put her to bed. She was in her bed in front of the TV, and me and Junior was in, were in, my bed.”
Croslin and Cummings called 911 after discovering the girl was missing, according to the police report.

God bless this dad I feel when they check the water closer she is in there .His girlfriend did something or let something happen accidental or not, she threw that baby in the water and propped the door.I believe everyone is correct if she went to bed at 8:00 then 2 hours is 10:00 .Even if she went to bed at 12:00 AM that is still only 2:00 AM ,she waited to see him because emotionally he is her care giver ,she wanted him there before the police.Plus god knows what time the incident really happened.

First of all that is not Misty in the red shirt in the photo above. That is his ex wife. Second of all, I listened to the 911 tape and it definitely sounds like Misty knows more than what she is saying. Infact, when she called 911 she said she said they went to bed at 10 and that was the last time she saw her but in the police report it said she put her to bed at 8pm. I am always the kind of person that does not believe that “they” did it like OJ and Casey Anthony. It is just so hard to believe that someone could be so cruel, however, given the age of Misty having to raise another woman’s children definitely gets my mind wondering. I also heard something about an estranged relative of hers that might have a record as a sex offender. Did they find him yet? Funny, on the 911 tape she was more worried about that stupid brick on the step holding the door open than the fact that the little girl was gone. That leads me to believe she was trying to explain herself from the very beginning. Trying real hard to make it look like a kidnapping. Man, what the hell is happening to our world. Kids are not safe in school, their own beds. We all just better pray. People are being evil. Evil is just running a muck on earth. I think we all just need to sit back and pray against the evil in the world. Pray that God will protect our children and all of us that love him.
I also pray that little Haleigh Cummings will make it back home safely without a scratch on her. I pray that whoever has her has the overwhelming guilt of what they are doing to bring her back to her parents where she belongs. I pray no one hurts her. In Jesus’ name.

She could have just as easily shut the door and then called 911. In the 911 call she also ask “what” to many questions giving her time to think and react to how she wants to. Haleigh Cummings’ little brother told police a man dressed all in black snuck into her room and snatched the 5-year-old Florida girl from her bed, a TV news Web site reported.
Crystal Sheffield, the children’s mother, said Haleigh’s father Ronald Cummings, Jr. and her son recounted the same story to her.
“When I see him [Haleigh's brother], all he said is, ‘I want to find my sissy,’ and he said something about somebody in black took her,” Sheffield said, according to Central Florida News 13.
“He said they were all dressed in black, but I didn’t question him. I’m not going to question him.”
It was not immediately clear when or where Sheffield made this statement.

Obvious- I really think she had no clue as how to answer 911 questions. The operator asked what the “numeracles” were. Misty said what is that? (The house numbers). She also said Hayleigh might weigh, 40, 50 or 60 lbs. She has no clue. I don’t think she was stalling for answers, she didn’t know how to answer the questions. I still believe a little somethin’ was going on, haven’t figured that out yet tho’.

I have a hugh proble with anyone closing their eyes when they talk!!! That’s what Susan ? did when she killed both her baby boys as she drove them in John D.Long Lake a few years back! I’m sticking to my story, there is a lot not being told by Misty!!! Feds will get it out of her, one way or the other! Baby girl should have been with her mother and brother. Not a 17 year old what ever!!

Haleigh Cummings – Reward Increased
The reward for information on the disappearance of missing north Florida girl Haleigh Cummings has been increased to $35,000.
The Jacksonville-based Justice Coalition announced at a news conference Tuesday that it was adding $8,490 to increase the reward to help find the 5-year-old who has been missing for a month.
Haleigh vanished from the mobile homes where she lived with her father and his girlfriend.
Haileigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, and her mother, Crystal Sheffield, tearfully pleaded for the return of the little girl at the Satsuma news conference.
On Monday, Cummings and girlfriend Misty Croslin applied for a marriage license in Palatka.

Haleigh Cummings Father Getting Married Soon
The father of a missing 5-year-old north Florida girl plans to marry his 17-year-old girlfriend.
Putnam County Clerk of Courts Tim Smith says Ronald Cummings, 24, and Misty Croslin applied for a marriage license Monday in Palatka. Because Croslin is only 17, she needed consent of both parents. The license is good until March 12th.
Relatives say they plan to marry soon.
Haleigh Cummings has been missing for a month.

I don’t think it was his girlfriend if you think about it they live near 44 sex offenderes so if you think about it it might of been one of them. Then they took her. I fear for that little girls life because whoever took her could try to kill her because something else that she was not involed in but the dad or the girlfriend was in. I pray God will help her safely home and that the police will catch the kidnapper before they hurt her. It will be a really big miracle by God if she comes home without a scratch. I hope she is okay and healthy. I know if I was that little girl I would proablly be scared to death by now. May God bless your family!! I believe that Misty G.either had a few “buds” over for a few (?) or she left for a bit;or possible her friend went out the back door and left it open;someone she was aquainted with came back after she was asleep and took Haleigh.This person who was in the house prior may have slipped something in her drink and that’s why she made no sound when he took her.H being the man in black that the little brother saw.
Also,by Misty and Robert getting married ,I believe was done so that they can’t
testify aganist one another(esp that she can’t be questioned).And,I am sure NOT convinced about the father!? He is either involved in this in some way,OR he was in some drugged state…he just doesn’t act right!

If someone wanted a child, why wouldnt they take the 17yr old babysitter? She is tiny enough to be overpowered.
I can understand the father wanting to cling to his girlfriend during this difficult time. However how does he let himself celebrate anything? He should be out looking for that child every waking moment. Every moment spent getting married is one moment NOT looking for that baby.
Going out to eat? Thinking about the future? Are you kidding me? Life doesnt go on….The world stops until you find that child.

I still think Misty is not telling the whole truth about Hayleigh! She has not convienced me in the least about what happened! I know one thing, every body is getting lawyers for some reason. Think about it. If a man described you to police as “a dumb bitch”, wouldn’t you be a fool to marry him?

Why in the world would a mother who knows her husband is an abuser and who does drugs allow him to have full custody of both children? Why would any one allow this! I hope that if little Hayley is found safely, that she and her little brother are removed from this horrible house of “sex, abuse and drugs” and placed in a foster home till further family members can be evaluated to replace them for care. Ronald Cummings has put on a “fake” face of loss! What is wrong with the whole family; there’s no sadness from any of them for Hayley’s absence! or is this how white trash act; they don’t care!

I think Misty was cheating on Ron, wether he is connected with the kidnapping i am not decided on, but misty is obviously a partier and had been going out or partying there at the house. she probably left and the girl was taken. I have run to the store myself in my party days and left the house opened but i didn’t have kids. Just irresponsibility on her part. Thats what drugs do to you. and being a former drug user, I can see in Misty AND Ron’s eyes they are abusing substance. probably meth. Thats why misty always looks so tired. SHE”S COMING DOWN !!! Look at the video of the day after. She’s so lethargic and he was too. not just from lack of sleep but quite apparently from a serious drug problem. I wonder if they still hit the pi**** or if this will snap them out of it. Lesson Learned? I sure hope so. I have been clean for 10 years and can still spot a tweaker from a mile away. Has there been any news of little Haleigh lately? I see where these other children are being found but we don’t hear about little Haliegh. I hope and pray to God they find her. It is so unnerving with all that is going on with these babies. I have 19 grand children and and 15 great grand children and I think I would kill someone over one of these babies if I had too. Haleigh Cumming’s Dad Loses Job
After waiting two months to hear from the father of still missing 5-year-old Putnam County kindergartner Haleigh Cummings, the Palatka plant where he worked has fired him for abandoning the job, the company said.
Ronald Cummings’ employment was a factor in his being granted custody of his daughter and son in 2005 because he was in a better position to pay for health insurance.
Following Haleigh’s disappearance, the long estranged mother of the children has said she wants custody of their son, 4-year-old Ronald Cummings Jr.
Tony McCauley, director of human resources for PDM Bridge, said Cummings’ bosses never heard from him following Haleigh’s disappearance Feb. 10. McCauley said Cummings could have asked for a leave of absence.
“That never happened,” he said from company headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. “Without that happening, at some point they filled his position. He was released.”
Cummings operated a rolling crane at the plant north of Palatka, Florida, but was not a longtime employee.
“We still have a great deal of sympathy for Mr. Cummings and his family and certainly hope for the best,” McCauley said.

Why is the media not following this story anymore it has seemed very bizarre because it was all over Nancy Grace Show and Jane Valez Mitchell Joe and also on CNN Headline news. I agree with Nicole. I am concerned that if this story does not get some much needed media attention, she may remain missing. I have been watching Nancy Grace daily, waiting for any news about this case. I do not understand why Nancy Grace continues to talk about Caylee Anthony and Sandra Cantu on a daily basis. As sad as it sounds, these children are no longer missing. If I had a missing child I would want my childs picture and name everywhere. Maybe the custody fight between the parents took too much attention away from the search? Makes me wonder if there is something more to the story that the public has not been told? I am interested in what is going on with the case also…

Crystal Sheffiled has been very different on television than she is in real life. Her idea of Ron wanting to control her was him not allowing her to smoke in the house when Haleigh had asthma. She took five hours to come down when Haleigh got taken. What was she doing? She has been very good at getting people to take her side and believe her. I think she did this or had someone do it. She did it on Misty’s watch to expose Misty. She has made sure that Misty was exposed by Junior and the man in black couch bouncing issue. She knew about Misty and wanted it out for custody. Neither should have the kids but Ron is a better parent than Crystal. She took the kids to a dog fight at her dads.

I agree, this story needs to be in the public eye, so that everyone can keep looking for her. I’m a single grandmother raising 3 of my young grandchildren and I know it’s hard to keep your eye on them, but it is possible. Children don’t disappear without a trace. I think Ronald Cummings is the worst choice the Judge could have chosen as the custodial parent. EVERYTHING about this man is wrong. EVERYTHING!
Just because the Mother did not get custody does not mean it was because she was unfit. THE MOTHER HAD NO SOURCE OF INCOME and the courts usually rule in THE BIOC: THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD and finances factor into this decision quite heavily.
In America, statistics prove that WOMEN are still far behind men in earning equal pay anyway. THEREFORE, Crystal Sheffield living where she lives (good ole boy town) has the deck stacked against her.
I do think that Ron is a pig. I cannot stand the pig. HALEIGH’s missing IS HIS FAULT point, blank, period. LOOK at the way HE CONDUCTED HIS LIFE! LOOK at the slut he LEFT HALEIGH with whom he married AFTER the child went missing. WHY? To make himself LOOK saintly or what?
HE LEFT THE CHILD in this slut’s care and control? SHE cannot control her own self more or less care for a child!

Ummm The St. John river was explored by two dive teams and they found nothing. I have read where it says that the river runs slow like molasis.. but I do not know for fact.
I do know that Ronald and Misty are guilty of child endangerment… they were in charge of her and let something horrible happen.
They could have done something themselves on accident or purpose, and disposed of her body before Ron even went to work. He wanted to be at work when it all went down so he would have an alibi…. this is a very sad story and I just hope and pray they find Haleigh soon with all kinds of evidence around her.

I believe that Ronald Cummings is aggressive man and a forward thinker. I believe he set up this whole thing up. The reason Misty can not tell the same story each time is because Ronald only gave her a little time to remember it. I have been in a controlling relationship and ways the guy can manipulate you in believing what he tells you. She is young and very stupid. She knows more but now being his wife doesn’t have to say. I do not believe Hayleigh was killed or abducted that day. It happened prior to the date of the call.

What about the shed? Maybe she was put there first.
What about that dumpster?
Someone should be checking land fields.
What about the scent at the railroad tracks?
Maybe he dumped the clothes there, and/or blankets etc.

I watch Nancy Grace all of the time and with her support of finding missing children, I am quite surprised as to what has happened with Haleigh. I hate to say it, but I wonder if it’s because she lived in a trailer house with uneducated people. Nonetheless, she is a missing child and the search and media should continue until she is found, however that may be. I felt that the father cared very much for his little girl and his character needs not to be brought up unless he is the guilty one in her disappearance and that has not been the case so far. So shame on you Nancy Grace and others for not covering this beautiful little girl’s story. Let’s find her!!!!

Nancy Grace is one station, what about other stations, what about updates on the news, on yahoo, I have to say this story has been taken from the public eye and this is not right, until these kids are found, we need to have the public involved so we all can help and pray for these kids.
Please help us get these stories back on air and update us all, if we did not care we would not stay up and watch and listen and try to help, to start stories and not finish them, keep them posted and leave us updates, we need to continue to follow these kids who have no voice to speak.

I do not think one has to look very far to know where Haleigh is. I will bet my life on it that Misty is behind this whole thing. She was jealous of the relationship that Ron and Haleigh had and wanted her out of the picture, she got what she wanted. A child just does not disappear out of a home with the caregiver 5ft away. Any parent knows that! If the police put the heat on her and kept it up for hours on end she would break. Lets face it she may only be 17yrs old however, she is well beyond her years with street smarts. What a shame, this little girl has b een missing for several months now and we never hear anything about her on the news. We just cannot sit back and accept the fact that a little girl disappeared, we can’t give up on finding her, lets get the media to put her story on the tube again. I have to agree – Nancy Grace & Jane Velez-Mitchell are good programs! BUT they only broadcast what will keep the ratings up. I don’t believe they really care about the children missing. It’s who will give the most drama to the story!!!! Shame on them.

These news shows need to go back to focusing on the missing children. They could be alive. Michael Jackson is dead and it is a tragedy. He was a very talented man, however we need the missing children to be found. I am very dissapointed in the news show that are suspose to be bring attention to victims of crimes and the missing. Instead they are riding the “RATINGS TRAIN” It has changed my opinion of these susposedly concerned tv personalities. I now turn them off if its about Michael Jackson. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. How do we really know when Haleigh Cummings really sent missing? We only know when she was reported missing when her father was at work. She could have been missing earlier, we have only their word to go by. Their is something just not right about this whole thing.

I believe they need to really put Haleigh back in the spot light. Her little life is as important as anyone elses. I realize there are other news stations that can cover the story, however, Nancy Grace is about the only one that I can catch as well as I don’t have access to the local news for her area. I am really disappointed in Nancy! The case with Caylee is ridiculous. I think she could give highlights but the time she is spending on it is unreal. What about Haleigh! Haleigh is just as important as if it had been one of hers! I know if it ever was one of mine, I would want the media and anyone else to help me. My children are my life. Nancy needs to take a good look at her children. Caylee is important but bless her little soul, she atleast has been found. No one knows about Haleigh!

Ronald Cummings in midnight brawl with wife Misty Croslin’s family
The father of missing north Florida girl Haleigh Cummings is accused of putting a headless dead rat in his brother-in-law’s mailbox a week after Putnam County deputies arrested him for assaulting the man, MyFOX Orlando reported.
Last Thursday Putman County deputies held Ronald Cummings, 25, after the sheriff’s office said he got into a fight with his wife’s brother, Hank Croslin Jr. Investigators say the rat incident happened two days after his arrest but have yet to file charges.
Cummings was held in the Putnam County Jail on $12,004 bond last week on a charge of burglary with assault after making his initial court appearance. Court records did not list an attorney.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, three members of the Croslin family showed up about 11:30 p.m. at the double wide mobile home in Welaka where Cummings, his wife and his grandmother, Annette Sykes, live.
A verbal dispute escalated into a fight between Cummings and Hank Croslin Jr. Cummings’ wife Misty Croslin told deputies she was hit in the face twice by Hank Jr. and her father, Hank Sr., because she was trying to break up the fight.
Hank Croslin Jr. was complaining of neck and head pains and was taken to Putnam Community Medical Center.
On the way to jail, Ronald Cummings said he wanted to press charges against Hank Croslin Jr. and Hank Croslin Sr., the sheriff’s office said. Charging affidavits signed by Cummings will be reviewed by the State Attorney’s Office.
Haleigh Cummings, 5, vanished Feb. 10 from her father’s mobile home, just outside the community of Satsuma. She has not been found.
Authorities learned of Haleigh’s disappearance in a 911 call from Misty Croslin, who was babysitting Haleigh and her younger brother. She said she awoke about 3 a.m. and noticed the kitchen light was on and the back door of the mobile home was propped open with a brick and Haleigh was missing.
Despite extensive searches and a $35,000 reward, Haleigh has not been found.

Police Question Misty Croslin’s Brother And His Wife
SATSUMA, Fla. — A Cape Cod couple has been questioned in the case of a missing Florida girl who disappeared from her father’s mobile home in February.
A Putnam County Sheriff’s release Tuesday says investigators interviewed Timothy Croslin and his wife on Saturday, but not about an alleged sighting of Haleigh Cummings in a Massachusetts store.
Croslin’s sister, Misty Croslin, was the last person to see Haleigh. She had been babysitting the then 5-year-old on Feb. 10 at her father’s home just outside of Satsuma.
Police have said they don’t think Misty Croslin has been straight with them, but they have not named any suspects.
The Cape Cod Times reported that Florida authorities questioned Timothy Croslin and his wife at the South Yarmouth state police barracks about Haleigh. Authorities have not said why they were questioned.
The report said no further information would be immediately released.
Misty Croslin says she woke about 3 a.m. on Feb. 10 and noticed the kitchen light on. The back door was propped open with a brick and Haleigh was missing.
Despite extensive searches and a $35,000 reward, Haleigh has not been found.

who thinks they arent fit parents? o i didnt know that was the case here. i thought the case was about a missing little girl. THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!! even if they arent fit parents that doesnt cause the dissapearence of a little girl unless they has something to do with it. WHO CARES!! That father clearly loves his little girl although i can not say the same for the step mom. But the mom SHOULD be acting crazy! what if your little girl went missing?! if my little girl went missing i would be out to get the world!!! you can bet on that!!!!!

you might want to look in to jacksonville fl she was spotet 2 to 3 times. she was spotet in a grocery store called winn-dixie #0025 on baymedow rd 32217 its was around 730 pm that the were shopping you might find it on stores sevelence this was on 09/24/2009 . she usely comes in with a men around 40s black hair 6′ 2″ and also this men comes in with anothe girl that looks like she is the same age and she has black hear.

The parents of Ron and of Misty are all suspicious acting. None of them are truly working on finding Haleigh. I would be hounding the police daily. The investigators must get Misty and drill her until she cracks. Look at what they did to the other child that went missing some time ago, Kailey (sp). They arrested the mom and the grandparents were covering up for the mom. The baby was found dead eventually. Without really getting into Misty’s head, you will never find out what happened to this little girl Haleigh.
Unfortunately, these grandmothers are not serious. One of them said they know that this girl is alive and the reason is because she said that God will answer her prayers if she is faithful to ask Him. God will take care of everything, but he doesn’t give you what you want…God knows the big picture!!!

Ronald Cummings & Misty Croslin Divorce
(CNN) — The father of Haleigh Cummings, a Florida girl who disappeared in February, plans to file for divorce from the girl’s stepmother, a key witness in the case, his attorneys told HLN’s “Nancy Grace.”
Ronald Cummings plans to divorce his wife, Misty, his attorney says.
The move follows weeks of reported tension between Ronald and Misty Cummings during the search for Haleigh, who was 5 when last seen.
In papers expected to be filed Tuesday, Ronald Cummings, 25, cites irreconcilable differences in ending his short marriage to his 17-year-old wife, said Terry Shoemaker, Ronald Cummings’ attorney.
Haleigh went missing from her father’s home in Satsuma, Florida, on February 9. Cummings has made several public pleas for information in her disappearance.
Misty Cummings, then known as Misty Croslin, was the last person known to have seen Haleigh the night she disappeared from the family’s rented mobile home.
The teenager said she tucked Haleigh and her 4-year-old brother into bed about 8 p.m. and went to sleep herself two hours later, but awoke at 3 a.m. to find the girl missing and a cinder block propping open a back door.
Ronald Cummings called police and reported his daughter missing when he returned from work at dawn.
Investigators have said they do not feel Misty Cummings has told them everything she knows.
“The police have been telling me that I’ve been keeping Misty under my wing and that’s why she hasn’t talked to the cops,” Ronald Cummings told a “Nancy Grace” producer Tuesday. “So now, here you go, I divorced her. So now go find my baby.”
The Putnam County Sheriff’s office said in August that “the evidence and investigatory effort has minimized the likelihood that Haleigh’s disappearance is the work of a stranger.”
Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh’s mother, are not considered suspects, police said.
“Investigators believe that Misty Croslin-Cummings continues to hold important answers in the case,” the sheriff’s office said in a written statement.
“She has failed to provide any sort of detailed accounting of the hours during the late evening and early morning of Haleigh’s disappearance.
Furthermore, physical evidence at the scene contradicts Misty’s sketchy account of her evening activities.”
Shoemaker said his client told Misty Cummings he wanted a divorce on Sunday, and that the a divorce agreement was drawn up Monday. The agreement was sent to Misty Cummings’ lawyer for her signature.
“He really didn’t come to us and say, ‘I want to file for divorce,’” said another of Ronald Cummings’ attorneys, Brandon Beardsley. “My understanding is that this is something that he and Misty have been discussing for the last few days and they’re contemplating it because they ultimately feel that it is in the best interest for both of them.”
Misty Cummings’ attorney, Robert Fields, told CNN he has not talked with his client and doesn’t know her thoughts regarding the divorce. Fields said he had received the papers via e-mail but had not had a chance to review them.
Asked what he thought the divorce would mean for the search for Haleigh, Fields said, “Probably nothing.”
“You have to understand that ever since Haleigh went missing, they have been scrutinized,” Beardsley said of the Cummingses. “They can’t go out to dinner, can’t even go to the convenience store to get a drink. … The pressure of everything that is going on, the allegations and speculation, has been a stress on the relationship.
The two lived together for about six months before marrying in March. The divorce agreement provides no financial terms, according to Shoemaker.
On Monday, Misty Cummings left Satsuma to stay with a friend in Orlando, 50 miles south, Shoemaker said.

My Heart goes out to Ronald Cummings and his family,
I have watched this since the story broke, There is no doubt in my mind he loves his daughter and little boy Jr.
I think everyone should lay of of him, he has and is
doing the best he can to survive this ordeal and still maintain his composure Misty Cummings is a whole different matter.

red- i agree with you the babysitter does seem a little unconvincing but i dont think the dad had anything to do with it. and yes at least they didnt wait a month to report it. we are praying for your safety haleigh. the angels are with you in your time of need!

Try freeze framing the inteview Misty gave right when she was with her mother. You will see that Misty is a very angry person from her expressions. She did it. for sure.
