Jennifer Lea Burton – Texas teacher Jennifer Lea Burton, pictured below, was indicted on six counts of sexual misconduct with a 15-year old female student who knew her daughter.
39-year old Jennifer Lea Burton resigned as a teacher and girls athletic coach at Orangefield Junior High where her own daughter is in the eighth grade. Police say the alleged sexual relationship lasted from September 2008 through November 2008.
Burton is charged with three counts of sexual assault and three counts of improper relationship between an educator and a student.
Both cases are 2nd degree felony offenses with a range of punishment from two years probation to 20 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 for each count.
Jennifer Burton is a 1987 graduate of Orangefield High School and had been teaching at the school since 2003
Burton’s daughter is an eighth-grader at Orangefield Junior High School where her mother taught. As part of her job, she coached girls volleyball, basketball and track.

According to sources, Burton’s daughter didn’t just know the girl, they were close friends. Further, the girl wasn’t just Burton’s student, she was her foster daughter, and the Burtons were in the process of adopting her. So, this isn’t just a case of a woman having sex with her student, it was a woman having sex with her daughter’s friend, and a case of a woman having sex with her (foster) daughter — technically incest.
This all came to light after her younger daughter (not the girl’s friend) told Jennifer’s husband that when he wasn’t home, mommy and the girl would go into their bedroom and lock the door. So, husband put a nannycam in the bedroom, and captured Jennifer on video having oral and penetrative (finger) sex with the girl. It’s pretty damning stuff. Expect a plea deal in two months or so.
