Megan McAllister Loves Her Craigslist Killer – Demonstrating that true love knows no bounds, Megan McAllister – the fiance of Craigslist killer Philip Markoff – says that she still loves her boyfriend despite the overwhelming evidence that he murdered Julissa Brisman.
Megan McAllister affirmed her love in a statement released by her attorney, “I love my fiancé and I will continue to support him throughout this legal process.”
Apparently, McAllister has chosen to ignore the evidence that Philip Markoff is indeed the Craigslist killer:
- The murder weapon was found in Markoff’s apartment, hidden in a hollowed-out copy of Grey’s Anatomy.
- Bullets found in his apartment match those used to kill Julissa Brisman.
- Panties belonging to Julissa Brisman and another victim were found in his apartment.
- Text messages were sent from Markoff’s Blackberry though nearby network access points at the times of the robberies and the murder.
- His email address was used to set up the masseuse appointments.
- Philip Markoff’s fingerprints were found on the wall of the Warwick, Rhode Island hotel room where another Craigslist masseuse was attacked and robbed.
- Philip Markoff has been positively ID’d as the robber by both victims and by the husband of the Rhode Island robbery victim
Through her attorney, Megan McAllister described Craigslist killer Philip Markoff as a “loving and caring person” and said she expected to talk to investigators within the next several days.
McAllister’s statement also asked that her fiancé’s fate not be determined by the media and public opinion, but by the facts in the case.
“What has been portrayed and leaked to the media is not the Philip Markoff that I know,” McAllister said. “To me and my family, he is a loving and caring person and in the eyes of the law and Constitution, he is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
“I just can only hope that the criminal justice system will not be overwhelmed and persuaded by what is being put forth in the media. My fiancé’s fate should not rest in the court of public opinion, but rather in a court of law.”
