Paula Abdul Addiction – American idol judge Paula Abdul has admitted a 12-year addiction to pain drugs due to a 1993 plane crash that required fifteen spinal surgeries.

Paula Abdul 12-year addiction to drugs

Paula Abdul opened up to Ladies Home Journal about needing a synthetic morphine patch to ease the pain of having “reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome” caused by her injury-induced chronic debilitating pain.

Abdul revealed just how hard it was for her to detox from a 12-year-long painkiller drug addiction in this month’s issue of Ladies Home Journal, saying “I could have killed myself.”

The withdrawal from her paikiller addiction was “the worst thing. I was freezing cold, then sweating hot, then chattering and in so much pain. It was excruciating. But at my very core, I did not like existing the way I had been.”

And that’s the latest news on her battle with drugs and the resulting 12-year Paula Abdul addiction.
