Aly Lakdawala – University of South Florida grad Aly Lakdawala was caught in a riptide Saturday and drowned in the Pacific Ocean off the Costa Rica coast.

Three other USF students swimming with Aly Lakdawala Saturday afternoon managed to break free from the riptide and made it back to shore.
Lakdawala and 13 other students were participating in a school-sponsored, two-week alternative summer break program teaching English in the village of Samara on Costa Rica’s southwest coast.
Aly Zain Lakdawala had taken part in similar university-sponsored mission trips in the past, USF spokesman Michael Hoad said in a statement. “He was a very involved student.”
Aly was a member of service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and played intramural volleyball and soccer. Friends flooded his Facebook wall with messages Sunday when they heard he had gone missing.
And that’s the latest news on the drowning death of Aly Lakdawala.

Most people swept out to sea by a strong riptide drown within an hour and are never found. After two days, well, you be the judge…

It’s incorrect to post something you advertise as “latest updates on news that matters”. You should revise that to say “latest updates on my THOUGHTS regarding current events”….
Therefore, if you seek any reputable claims, please do not falsely “report” a drowning death based on your own assumptions. You may not know him, but there are hundreds of people who do and seeing something posted here that may or may not be true can devastate a community. We are keeping a positive outlook for his safe return. Thank you for your consideration.

PLEASE REMOVE THE WRITTEN “DROWNING DEATH”. This is false information and can be taken very seriously. If this information is not removed in the next 12 hours, seriouse consequences against A 11 News will arise.

I agree with Erika, there is no proof that he drowned. We are all just hoping he made it to some island and is hanging out there without any wi-fi to tell the world he is okay. Give it a couple more days before assuming. And admin, yes, let us be the judge and not this website telling us something that may or may not be true at this point.

Although your “thoughts” on the matter may be statistically correct, you have no proof as to if he drowned or not. This may be an a eye catching headline for your establishment, however it aches the hearts of the hopeful. It has only been 2 days since the incident, have some respect!
