Neda Soltani – Pics and video of Neda Soltani, aka the “Angel Of Iran”, the 27-year old philosophy student shot to death by a Basiji sniper as Neda watched a non-violent protest march in Iran and later dubbed the “Angel of Iran.”
The YouTube video of Neda Soltani death was posted to Facebook by a friend of the doctor who tried to aid the young woman after Neda was shot through the heart.
In the video, the young man kneeling next to Neda as she bleeds to death is crying out, in Farsi: “My Neda, don’t be afraid, please don’t go, please don’t go, please stay…”
On June 20th at 7:20 p.m., Neda Soltani was standing with her father at the corner of Khosravi Steet and Salehi Street watching the protests when she was shot without warning by a Basiji member firing from the rooftop of a nearby building.
The protests were going on about a half-mile away and some protesters were running toward Salehi Street to escape a cloud of tear gas.
It was clear that Neda was not an active protestor, just a sympathetic observer, but in Iran the police force and Revolutionary Gurads are all thugs intent on controlling the population through fear and intimidation.
Instead, the death of Neda Soltani, the “Angel of Iran”, has given the Green Revolution a rallying point, a martyr’s death that emphasizes the brutality of the government and its total disregard for the people of Iran.

Neda Soltani Funeral
An ABC reporter in Dubai said she was told that Neda Soltani was rapidly buried by government order to forestall a funeral rally.
In the holy city of Qom, turmoil was reported among the ruling clerics.
There were reports that some dissident clerics were trying to replace the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was appointed by the council of clerics and can be replaced by a majority vote.
