Neda Agha-Sultan – Pics and video of Neda Agha-Sultan, aka the “Angel Of Iran”, the 27-year old philosophy student shot to death by a Basiji sniper as Neda watched a non-violent protest march in Iran and later dubbed the “Angel of Iran.”

The Neda Agha-Sultan death video was posted to Facebook by a friend of the doctor who tried to aid the young woman after Neda was shot through the heart.

In the video, the young man kneeling next to Neda as she bleeds to death is crying out, in Farsi: “My Neda, don’t be afraid, please don’t go, please don’t go, please stay…”

On June 20th at 7:20 p.m., Neda Agha-Sultan was standing with her father at the corner of Khosravi Steet and Salehi Street watching the protests when she was shot without warning by a Basiji member firing from the rooftop of a nearby building.
The protests were going on about a half-mile away and some protesters were running toward Salehi Street to escape a cloud of tear gas.

It was clear that Neda was not an active protestor, just a sympathetic observer, but in Iran the police force and Revolutionary Gurads are all thugs intent on controlling the population through fear and intimidation.

Instead, the death of Neda Agha-Sultan, the “Angel of Iran”, has given the Green Revolution a rallying point, a martyr’s death that emphasizes the brutality of the government and its total disregard for the people of Iran.

I would like to say, that as a human being that is thought to live in a democracy, even though as a British citizen born and bread, i do feel that it is one law for us, the people of the state, and another law for the rulers of the state, by the way has been proven by the amount of abuse the M.Ps have forced on us,the mere individuals of this country, GREAT BRITAIN. i CANNOT BELIEVE, that the absolute murder of a woman protesting against a regime that se absolutley did not believee in will go un noticed. At the end of the day, were are the nuclear arms that should have been found in Iraq.I am not saying i support any system that has been guilty of the oppressionofwomen or of non democracy. LETS BE MADE ACCOUNTED FOR OUR BELIEFS, I AM THERE 100PERCENT. Lets fight for the beliefs of an innocent woman, who should never have been shot at, let a lone anything else.

When I heard about the story I was immediately moved to write a song about the personal tragedy and what it seemed to symbolize. It just makes you think would you love your country enough to go and be part of a demonstration – or even just witness it ? Or would you just stay cowering in your house listening to noises outside?
Isn’t it love of your country to stand up and take to the streets to see positive change in progress? Wouldn’t you be ashamed if years on your grandchildren asked you what you did on that historic day and you said “nothing – the authorities told us to stay at home?”
My song’s on youtube: “One Lost Vote”
