Nevaeh Buchanan Buried Alive? – The autopsy of murdered Michigan 5-year old Nevaeh Buchanan indicates she may have been buried alive or suffocated by holding her face down in the dirt.

According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, “The autopsy results have revealed that Nevaeh’s death was caused by aspiration of (dirt). This means that Nevaeh’s face was forcibly maintained or embedded into a dirt surface. Whether this resulted from another person forcibly pressing her face into dirt or whether she was buried alive could not be determined.”

A relative told reporters, “Detectives said she did not suffer any trauma. They said she was buried face down.”

While the death of Nevaeh Buhanan has been ruled a homocide, no one has been charged in her death.

After little nevaeh disappeared from her apartment complex, her body was found 10 miles away on June 4, 2009, by two fishermen who spotted skin beneath some crumbling, recently poured concrete.

Two men, both sex offenders, were arrested by police during the initial investigation.

The first man arrested was George Kennedy, who had served time for having sex with a 15-year-old girl. Nevaeh’s mother and Kennedy had dated before they became close friends. Kennedy, who remains a person of interest in the case, is in custody on a parole violation.

Roy Lee Smith, another convicted sex offender and person of interest in the case, also is in custody for violating parole because of his contact with Nevaeh.

And that’s the latest news on the chilling possibility that Nevaeh Buchanan buried alive.
