Representative Joe Wilson yelled out “You lie” during President Obama’s speech to Congress about health care after Obama said extending health care to all Americans who seek it would not mean insuring illegal immigrants.
A major flap erupted after the “You lie” Obama outburst from Rep. Joe Wilson, but what he said echoes what’s on the minds of most Americans who have witnessed a flood of illegal immigrants overrun our health care system and our schools.
Apparently, members of Congress have already forgotten how mad people are about the whole health care reform fiasco.
There was widespread laughter in the chamber when Obama allowed that there are “significant details to be ironed out.”
Leading politicians from both parties forgot that spirited free speech and political mockery were once prevalent on the House floor, with some feuds so fierce that duels resulted.
“There’ll be time enough to consider whether or not we ought to make it clear that that action is unacceptable in the House of Representatives,” said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., when asked about possible punishment for Rep. Joe Wilson. “I’ve talked to Republican members who share that view.”
“Let’s see what he does,” Hoyer said before Wilson issued an apology. “Then there’s time enough to consider further action.”
After the proverbial stuff hit the fan after Obama’s health care speech, Rep. Joe Wilson said in a statement, “This evening I let my emotions get the best of me. While I disagree with the president’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.”

Vice President Joe Biden says a Republican congressman’s outburst during President Barack Obama’s health-care speech Wednesday night “demeaned the institution.”
South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson shouted “You lie” after Obama said extending health care to all Americans would not mean insuring illegal immigrants.
Appearing on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Thursday, Biden said the incident made him “embarrassed for the chamber and a Congress I love.”

The last I checked, ‘Universal’ means just that: UNIVERSAL. And also, last I checked, illegals are not only in the Universe, they’re in the US. So what makes ANYONE believe that they won’t ’somehow’ slip thru the cracks? And here’s something to consider: IF illegals weren’t covered, the first groups to be out protesting against the bill would be LULAC and La Raz. But they’re not; they’re all FOR it. Now just WHY do you think that is?
The part that slays me is that Obama lied all the way through the speech. Especially about the part that this bill wouldn’t support abortion. What part of ‘complete reproductive health’ coverage of this bill does Planned Parenthood, the #1 Abortion Chain in the US, not support? Oh, wait, they DO support the bill, because it funds PP clinics IN and NEAR schools, out of any control of the ISD or Superintendent, or parents. Lots of problems…shall I go on?
President Obama DID LIE. I, for one, applaud Mr. Wilson for saying so. Right out loud like a whole lot of other Americans. I sent Mr. Wilson a thank you note. It’s about time someone ‘called out’ Mr. Obama for HIS misrepresentations.
