No word on the date, but Ellen’s wedding plans include flying in girlfriend Portia de Rossi’s family from Australia for the ceremony during California’s new gay marriage wedding boom before the controversial law is voted on November 2.

“Yes, we have set a wedding date,” Ellen DeGeneres told reporters Friday. “How do I feel about it? I obviously feel like it’s long overdue. I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous that we don’t all have the same rights.”
