Whiskey River Dale Jr. – Whiskey River, actually Whisky River, is Dale Jr’s new bar in uptown Charlotte, NC near the Bobcats arena that just opened this week.
Here are pictures of the new Whiskey River Dale Jr. bar that features a mechanical bull for weekend action, cowhide covered chairs, and plenty of big screen TVs for watching NASCAR on Sundays.
The music playing at the Whiskey River bar is primarily southern rock with some country hits thrown in, exactly the kind of music Dale Jr. likes to listen to when he’s kicking back off the NASCAR track.
The waitresses are hot and the beer is cold at Whisky River, but Dale Jr. is only at his bar to enjoy himself, not to work. “People think I’m on the phone wheeling and dealing, ordering the beer and liquor and positioning everything like I want it. I’m not the one doing that,” Earnhardt said. “I’m racing in Phoenix, for crying out loud.”
The name for Whisky River comes from the Western-style saloon Junior built on his property just outside of Charlotte.
“I built that Western town right next to the creek on my property and we named it Whisky River after the Willie Nelson song,” Dale Jr. said. “When we started building this I was still with Bud, and we couldn’t name it that. We had a bunch of other names that were pretty cool, but when we parted ways with Bud, I was like, ‘We have to name it Whisky River. It’s such a cool name.’
“We had other names with Junior in it and they sounded cheesy. People want to go to Whisky River. They don’t want to go to Junior’s Bar or Junior’s Garage. That’s just not my style. I don’t wear my name on my belt. The name gives the bar a personality that I can’t give it.”

Grand opening is this weekend. Should be a great time to be there because the bar is enormous. It’s a huge rectangle located in the center of the room that’s 24 feet to each side and you can get drinks anywhere you can elbow up to the bar…

I cant wait to come out om May 3rd after Kid Rock A lot of my friends will be joining about 20 of us I am so excited to check the place out and ride the bull. I bet I can give Dale JR a run for his money on that, LOL I cant wait.
We hope there will be a after party with Kid Rock there anyway we are coming anyway so be looking for a happy bunch of old paper doll crew LOL

Two couples plus some more friends are coming to Whiskey River October 7 party on our honeymoon. We are soooo excited about coming and drinking some cold beer and having a hell of a time. We would love to see Dale Jr there. That would be the best honeymoon ever. We are coming from Louisiana!!!!

I haven’t yet made my way to Whisky River but i just moved to the are 2 month’s ago and don’t like to drive in Charlotte at all that’s why i moved to Mooresville but i will walk if i have to got to be able to say i went to Juniors bar i no it is super like he is one of your # 1 fans Kimberly

Tryon covers a long distance. From the corner of Tryon & Trade street it’s about a half mile. Definitely downtown though (uptown in Charlotte speak).
Its in the area of town above the Panthers stadium and fairly near the Bobcats arena.
