Bear Eats Islamic Militants – A Himalayan black bear attacked and ate two Islamic militants who entered it’s cave den in Kashmir near the Pakistan border.
The dismembered bodies of the two militants were found by an army patrol scattered around the cave alongside their AK-47 rifles and rug sacks.
Colonel JS Brar, of the 9th Rashtriya Rifles, told reporters that “Both bodies were mauled badly by some wild animal, and apparently by a bear, as the area is inhabited by Himalayan Black bear.”
“The attack seems to have been so violent that both the militants got no chance to fire back at the wild animal” Colonel Brar added.
Troops recovered ID cards which identified the dead militants as Hizbul Mujahideen District commander, Siafullah, and Tehsil commander Kaiser.
Both of the dead militants belonged to Pir Panjal Regiment of Hizbul Mujahideen and were active for more than five years in the area.
