Missing Baby Found Under Babysitters Bed – A 7-month old Florida baby reported missing 5 days ago has been found alive in a box under her babysitter’s bed.
Search teams spent days looking for Shannon Dedrick in the woodland around her family’s trailer in a rural part of the Florida Panhandle.
Washington County Sheriff Bobby Haddock said early Thursday that investigators found 7-month-old Shannon Dedrick in a box under the bed at Susan Elizabeth Baker’s home near Chipley, a rural Panhandle town.
Haddock said deputies are working to charge Baker, James Arthur Baker and Chrystina Lynn Mercer. Haddock wouldn’t provide details. He said more information would be released soon.
Her parents reported Shannon missing Saturday afternoon. Haddock said authorities don’t believe the father was involved. He said Susan Baker and the father are related.
The baby’s family was investigated a few months ago after the babysitter sent a letter to Gov. Charlie Crist asking him to save the baby from its drug-abusing parents.
