Facebook Privacy Settings Changes – The recent Facebook changes to users privacy settings means there are now things you can no longer keep private.

Here are four key Facebook privacy setting changes:
- You can no longer hide group/page memberships: This one is really awkward for most people because its like letting other people look in your underwear drawer for something embarassing.
- You can no longer hide Facebook activity on your Wall: All sorts of people can see how often you check Facebook, even if you don’t want them to.
- You can no longer stop strangers from friending you: The tightest you can restrict incoming friend requests is to set it to “friends of friends”, which means people you don’t even know at all can send you those pesky friend requests.
- You can no longer hide your friends list: Friends of friends can always see your network, which is frought with peril for most people who don’t want everyone and their brother browsing their friends list.
And of course, the worst change is now that by default your pictures are available for everyone to see unless you specifically restrict them. Just ask Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg how embarrassing that can be.
And that’s the latest news on the Facebook privacy settings changes.

Facebook’s new privacy settings are the subject of a complaint filed to the FTC.
The social-networking site’s latest revamp makes it harder to shield information and photos from the general Facebook public.
That hasn’t sat well with 10 privacy groups, who filed the complaint in order to compel the site to make the information private again.
A Facebook spokesman said the company “discussed the privacy program with many regulators, including the FTC, prior to launch and expect to continue to work with them in the future,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
