TSA Cracks Down On Terror Nations – Finally, the TSA is getting tough on inbound travelers from Muslim nations linked to terrorism, including Saudi Arabia.

In the toughest new airline security rules in history, all US-bound passengers from 14 nations considered state sponsors of terrorism or “countries of interest” will be patted down, and their carry-on baggage will be searched.
The new rules will apply beginning today to travelers from Afghanistan, Algeria, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen, MSNBC reports.
The TSA said the new crackdown on people traveling from or through an nation on the list would include full-body pat-downs, carryon bag searches, full-body scanning and explosive detection technology.
In addition, inbound travelers from other countries will be chosen chosen at random and subjected to the same level of scrutiny.
The State Department and Homeland Security worked together to assemble the list of targeted countries, placing non-Muslim Cuba on the list because of alleged state-sponsored acts of terrorism.
“The new directive includes long-term, sustainable security measures developed in consultation with law enforcement officials and our domestic and international partners,” said a statement from the Transportation Security Administration.
The only exceptions to the new rules applying to travelers from these countries are their heads of state and members of their immediate families traveling with them.
