“Sexy CBS siren Laura Logan spent her days covering the heat of the Iraq war – but that was nothing compared to the heat of her nights.
The “60 Minutes” reporter and former swimsuit model apparently courted two beaus while she was in Baghdad, and has been labeled a homewrecker for allegedly destroying the marriage of a civilian contractor there, sources said.
Passions got so hot in the combat zone that one of her lovers, Joe Burkett, brawled in a Baghdad “safe house” with her other paramour, CNN war reporter Michael Ware, a source said.
The wife of Burkett, a US Embassy worker, claims the sultry 37-year-old correspondent seduced him while bullets flew overhead.”
Laura Logan claims that Burkett and his wife were separated before the affair, the Michael Ware hookup was a one-night stand, and the alleged “safe house boyfriend brawl” never happened.
CBS announced Wednesday that Logan was given a new Washington assignment as chief foreign-affairs correspondent.

It’s not too complicated at all. If Burkett and his wife were getting along so wonderfully well, why did he chase after Laura Logan? Or perhaps he has a wonderful marriage but has no spine or concern for his wife or family and willingly followed Laura to her lair. Give us all a break, Burkett, and take some responsibility for being a thoughtless, weak, selfish jerk. Any man worth his integrity can say no, and can stand up like a man when he chooses not to. Or he and his friends and his wife can blame the woman, which is a lot easier than looking for the truth behind the act.

Joe Burkett used to work for me in Iraq. He is a true piece of sh*t. Despite his high salary, he barely showed for work and produced nothing. It took contacting his CEO to get him to show. I knew I would read about this guy one day.

For those who have never been overseas nor those who have never known those who have been overseas you do not know what its like. In situations where you are constantly in lifethreatening conditions it starts to take a toll on the body, mind, and spirit. It is not uncommon for men and women over there to find comfort where they can. families back home will never be able to comprehend what they went through and may still be going through and they will find comfort in someone who does understand. So unless you know fully and completely what its like over there yhou have no right to judge those who do.

Lara Logan is entitled to act like any alpha male in similar positions. It is clearly double standard to criticize her while ignoring the other party. Remember Gary Hart, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, etc.? It appears that good looking and smart women simply get the blame while good looking and smart men are treated like studs in similar situations. Why confuse a woman’s libido with her news reporting and analysis skills? I saw/listened to Ms. Logan on Charlie Rose (PBS) the other night, and I agree with every word she said. I think her “Let’s get tough with the enemy” approach is the way back to the future. Instead of mooning over her appearance, why not try testing her ideas (start by reading Ceasar’s commentaries from Gaul)? Grow up!

I think she is lovely and very smart. On Charlie Rose she said the only way to end the Taliban is to kill them. I like a woman who has the guts to tell it.
The double standard works everywhere. In China for four years and divorced, there are many young American, Chinese, Russian, Spanish women with whom to get involved. I enjoyed the relationships and no “scandal”
occurred. People just need comfort occasionally.
I think she is very professional and very human.

Life overseas in a war area is extremely emotionally and mentally challenging. It is not uncommon for men and women to find comfort with each other. It has happened to me and to lots of others I know. For anyone to criticize these people for being human is to me inexcusable. I have one thing I want to tell them – You go to either Iraq or
Afghanistan by yourself without your loved ones for a year or more, get into fire fights, and then come back and tell me you did not try to find a little bit of comfort away from all the madness.

Laura Logan is a smart articulate well versed woman who has risked her life over and over to expose the pain and agony of an endless war. My only complaint about the beautiful, talented, and yes extremely brave Laura Logan is that she would stoop to such a low level and have an affair with a blood sucker like this. Now that’s a waste.
God do I hate these rich sleazebag contractors that live like smirking kings while our solders can barely make their rent payments back home or pay their medical bills. That is the scandal of this story, not whether Laura is hot or smart. She is both, but made a poor decision (not uncommon with most of the war correspondents who put their life on the line daily in a hellish environment). Now she is happily married and a mother and a great journalist. As to the “contractor” who gives a sht.
