FinallyFast.com – The website FinallyFast.com advertises a free download of a Windows registry cleaner to speed up your computer, but doesn’t tell you it’s $29.95 to actually remove anything.
What FinallyFast.com is selling – a Windows registry cleaner – you can get for free in a product called Spybot Search & Destroy and you can dramatically speed up your computer by removing the adware and spyware that SpyBot finds.
Take a closer look at what the FinallyFast website is really offering: You have a problem with your computer running really slow, they offer a seemingly free solution. Once you see the list of junk files clogging up your registry file, you think you have a huge problem and purchase Finally Fast.
Basically, the FinallyFast.com website is just a finely tuned system of getting you to pay for something you could get for free. They wouldn’t be spending big bucks advertising on ESPN if the FinallyFast website wasn’t making a killing.
Here’s how you speed up your PC in three simple steps.
- Open Windows control panel and remove any unwanted programs
- Remove as many icons and folders as possible from your desktop
- Download the free SpyBot Search & Destroy program and clean your PC
And that’s how you achieve even better results than you get with FinallyFast. Plus, it doesn’t cost you a dime.
And that’s the latest news on FinallyFast.com.

Instead I decided to remove the installed software. went to the contol panel to remove the program and I sorted the programs by date last acccessed. for some reason my turbo tax 2007 was last accessed today at the same time I ran the finallyfast scan. the last time I accessed it was in Feb 08. not march 15 08. anyone know what happened?

Its a scam…dont download finally fast
Spyware companies are now advertising on TV and duping millions into downloading their crap…sad sad day
May 18th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
I was skeptical of FinallyFast.com’s ads on TV, and for good reason.
Their big claim of being “mentioned” in Newsweek, Wall Street Journal and Forbes turns out to be in articles describing Ascending’s (the co. that makes FinallyFast) other product – BeAware. This is a program that lets companies spy on their employee’s IM activities and has nothing to do with PC performance.
The FinallyFast web site is extremely slow to load – are they intentionally making it that way to make people believe their PC’s are slow or does their web host need to start running their program.
I agree with all those recommending the free Spybot Search and Destroy program – there is no need to pay for this kind of software.
May 18th, 2008 at 11:26 pm
You are right Ryan it is a scam…dont download finally fast because they want you to do that and scan and get you to purchase it

Spybot is free. there are programs using it’s name to fake users into thinking it is spybot. it finds false issues and makes you pay to remove the installed by the fake program issue.
Spybot Search and destroy is free and 100% reliable.
Safer-networking.org (old site was http://www.security.kolla.de)
Ad-Aware is also a good partner product.
http://www.lavasoft.de (also free) and they work well together.
Both programs have no issue with working with an installed anti-virus program and Quarantine them. This allows you to restore the files in place if you discover you want/need the file for another program to work.
I have used them on over 200 computers without issue.
windows 98/2000/xp. Check the site for vista.

I watched this lame advertisement and all i noticed was one thing, everyone in the commercial were using Windows, that explains why your computers suck and are slow.

Get AVG, too. Spybot IS free! What’s everyone talking about. I’ve been using it for years. Here is AVG’s link:
http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition
And don’t get the dam paid edition and come back posting “it’s not free it’s not free.”
July 20th, 2008 at 9:46 am
Spybot Search @ Destroy is so neat….and it’s free. I’ve been using it for years along with Spyware3 Doctor. Once a month I go and check my files registry and discard anything that I don’t need or want. Save your money and don’t fall for a scam like “Finally Fast.”
July 20th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Sorry for the mistake. I meant Spyware Doctor (without the 3). Now if only a program could teach me how to type. Take care everyone!

Um… did you happen to notice that most of the computers featured in the ad were actually MACs? A bit ironic, considering the product is apparently “for PC computers only”.
July 22nd, 2008 at 3:42 am
the poster above that claimed(blanket statement) that windows makes a pc slower is a noob….windows os doesn’t necssarily slow down one’s pc..of course iit’s possible but not true in everybody’s case. i’ve been an avid pc user since 1998/.
i’m very pc savy.windows is microsoft and microsoft sucks, but windows isn’t always the pc’s problem.
even though there’s plenty of finatical windows haters who apply every pc problem to windows…again..a blanket statement/.
July 22nd, 2008 at 3:48 am
and btw, finallyfast??? please don’t download, buy it or even try it…i;d be skeptical of any product that sells the user a program that does the same thing that a ton of free legitimate downloadable programs will do…
1.adaware at lavasoft.com
2.spybot s&d
3.comodo software at comodo.com
also check the download site,softpedia.com
their advertised stuff is legit as they test it all themselves first(for spyware, adware, viruses and general working conditions of the softwares or programs).
July 22nd, 2008 at 3:50 am
and YES, AVG (anti-virus) at grisom.com DOES have a FREE virgin!
July 22nd, 2008 at 8:35 am
I never download any programs like this. It all invariably costs money or is additional spyware. PC users should always use firefox. Users should have up to date antivirus software. People should diligently update their operating system via microsoft’s update page. Turn on the built in firewall through the control panel. Finally use anti-spyware. Microsoft has a free one called windows defender. If one does those things then they’ll never have any problems.

AVG is a terrible anti-virus. It uses way to many resources and takes way to long to scan. I like to use PC Tools Antivirus. Also, Spybot Search and Destroy is the shit.
August 15th, 2008 at 11:42 pm
One of my PC customers used finallyfast.com free service, installed the program and ran it, found out you have to pay, so he then removed it. Now his PC can’t get online and his mouse doesn’t work. I had set his PC up with spybot and avg and told him not to trust crap like finallyfast, but did he listen? He said, “It was on TV so I thought it would be okay”…. So thanks finallyfast, I just made a quick $100 from one of your suckers..
August 16th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
Speaking of virus. Initial scan of the setup file with Avast! came up clean but as soon as I started installing the program Bam! it says the exe file being installed is a trojan virus. I immediately uninstalled both PC Scan Pro and Performance Center, which I had to do from the add/remove programs as it doesn’t include an uninstaller in the start menu. Running a full virus scan now. Hopefully everything comes up clean and it wasn’t a false positive. I feel sorry for this company as the paid advertising on tv to get a lot of customers now opens them up to a nice lawsuit for fraud, etc.

I work for a laptop repair company in Northern California and we test 300 laptops a day. As a quality control tester, I am appalled but sadly, not surprised, that people would allow adware/spyware/malware/badware to be installed on their computers. Moreover, the customers seem to rationalize the deteriorating performance of their computers due to a) excessive downloading or b) LOTS of pictures uploaded from their digital cameras over the years.
We have seen a surge of laptops installed with FinallyFast during the summer. The most common complaint from customers is about the commercial malware is, unsurprisingly, the even worse performance experienced for installing it in the first place. We dealt with FinallyFast as we do spyware-infested systems:
1. Log onto the Administrator account (or account with admin privileges) of Windows (XP or Vista) in Safe Mode.
1a. Go to Control Panel and uninstall FinallyFast.
2. Run Safer Networking’s Spybot S&D.
3. Run Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware (full scan).
4. Run Piriform’s CCleaner (Windows components/Applications/Registry cleaning).
(note: the three applications are executed via USB flash drive)
5. Disconnect the flash drive and restart Windows normally (NOT Safe mode).

I have a REALLY easy solution for everyone that uses there computers for word processing, web surfing and email checking…… use LINUX!!! DER!!!!! No registry and best of all, VERY FEW viruses and spyware. The GIANT majority of that stuff is designed to run on windows. Go to http://www.linuxmint.com and download one of the versions they have, I suggest the KDE version. It’s based on Ubuntu and REALLY easy to learn. I have gotten quite a few people using Mint so far.
~Just a few words from an expert, stay away from windows, it’s bad news!

I work in a commercial computer repair shop as a technician. Spybot, AVG 8.0, and Ad-Aware from Lavasoft are all good products and all have free versions. AVG 8.0 requires SP2 on XP to install. I downloaded FinallyFast on a test machine so I would know what to tell our customers. Stay with products you know or do research before downloading. Good luck to all.
December 16th, 2008 at 10:02 am
I also noticed that there are at least two Macs “running” Windows XP on the ad; also the displays on the monitors are too clear to have been present when the ad was shot, and look like they’ve been added during the editing stage.
My PC is long due for a re-install, which is a sure-fire way of speeding it up! I might just run FinallyFast on a clean install, just to see how many bugs it’ll find, which I assume will be loads, otherwise I won’t be “persuaded” to buy the full version!
Everytime I re-install Windows, I usually do it several times before I’m satisfied that it’s working properly. It’ll give me something to do on Christmas Day!
December 24th, 2008 at 11:59 am
No one mentioned the fact that they show old school Macs that can’t run windows in the commercial. Like they showed the blue screen of death, I think it was on the iBook G4.

One Rule everyone should follow, DO NOT respond to ANY TV or Radio commercial, especially the ones with the 800 numbers. They are 99% scam. They just want your credit card numbers. Please don’t be stupid and gullible. The TV, cable, and radio stations are desperate to get revenue and they will accept any advertisement, in most cases, knowing or not caring that it’s a SCAM. I know, I used to work for a tv station.

I’ve been running AdAware for years, twice a month. I thought it was getting everything, but I found this a11news article and downloaded Spybot S&D. After running, it found many critical items that were missed by AdAware. My PC is noticeably faster and I thank all that have contributed to this. I did download and try FinallyFast s/w but uninstalled as soon as I found this article and did not pay. Is it a good idea to keep running Spybot S&D and AdAware both?
January 14th, 2009 at 11:09 am
You can run both without any problem. However, you might want to run Spybot S&D first and then run AdAware and see if there’s really anything Spybot didn’t catch.
Two other excellent free tools are MalwareBytes Anti-Malware for removing really bad stuff and CCleaner which removes all your temporary Internet files and clears your index.dat history file.
You can get both at CNET’s download.com

Linux (ubuntu anyway) uses firefox and the like by default, so you’re fine on that front. If you honestly plan on switching, just make sure you save all your necessary files and everything on a flash drive or similar. Moving stuff over is simple as copy and pasting. I use online e-mail, so I’m not sure about Thunderbird archives, but Thunderbird is there

January 26th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
After reading all these reviews if anyone is still wondering……this software is a scam of the highest order. It is my understanding that their registry cleaner is actually a Microsoft product (which is free). If you have installed this junk I would seriously think about a fresh install of your operating system. If you want serious, safe, cleaning software: Spybot Search and Destroy; SUPERAntiSpyware; Malwarebytes; Advanced System Care 3; a decent firewall such as Comodo or ZoneAlarm; a good Anti-Virus such as AVG or Comodo’s CIS (both of which are free). Much good advice on Comodo’s forum pages (http://forums.comodo.com). Shop around before you buy. Bill Gates, sue this bad company please for reselling your product.
February 1st, 2009 at 12:10 am
What’s backalacking for shacking????
February 4th, 2009 at 6:50 pm
Their TV ad has people using their computers. Their browsers (ie of course) all have MyWebSearch (spyware) loaded on them.
If I get even get near someone with that loaded on their computer I’m into msconfig removing it in a heartbeat.
I cant believe their product works if they accidentally let that stay on there.
start – run – msconfig is dangerous but at least remove any MyWebSearch startup stuff you see.

I’ll be back to read more and learn more.

February 27th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
Spybot & Destroy has a free download. I’ve been using it for 5-6 years and it only gets better, with each update. U can contribute should you desire. It’s one of the best.

i Downloaded it for lol’s and then i thought wait what the hell am i doing and i stopped it just before it could do any harm and i deleted the stuff it was just installing. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS PROGRAM!!! and the commercial sux lol a blue screen on a mac when checking Email!

This is the BIGGEST scam going. These programs have really “jamned” my computer.
The TV Cable companies that let this operation continue their infomercials, should too, be held accountable.
DO NOT BUY this. (this will probably take 30 minutes to get online)
NOT satisfied.

Finally Fast sucks *@!
March 23rd, 2009 at 10:09 pm
Ok we have determined that Finallyfast.com is just a scam. Spybot Search and Destroy is free and has some very helpful features, but as a spyware remover its not so hot. The best freeware crapware removal tools are Superantispyware and Malwarebytes. You really need both because no single program finds everything. Cleanup! is a nice free program too. It empties out your temp folder and temporary internet files where a lot of spyware tends to congregate. As for speeding up your computer, you really need to defragment it on a regular basis and make sure that you have at least 40% freespace on your hard drive. A severely fragmented drive or a nearly full drive will drag your computer down fast. Upgrading you ram can help too if you have an older computer and less than 512mb of ram. Compared to a few years ago, ram is CHEAP now.

If you really want speed, I’d recommend switching over to Linux. By the way, this really is a scam and spyware, and I think they might well get into some trouble over claiming to be “Microsoft Certified”.
Spybot IS free and always will be, there are some clones out there that try to rip you off but the genuine version is to be found on this website:

Were you born that smart, or did you have to learn it thru experience like all the rest of us dummies? Thanx again.

May 1st, 2009 at 11:41 am
I see your ad on Direct TV. I read your propagands. A friend with Windows VISTA and many of the same problems (slow response, blue screen. repeated false reports of cable disconnects etc.) used this program and was happy.
I read the “agreements” and started.
After i get to the “DOWNLOAD” step I get a “waiting for finallyfast…” for anout two minutes and then a “DONE” message. BUT IT IS NOT “DONE”. It just quit
May 1st, 2009 at 11:42 am
I’m a tech, I put these tools on most customers PC’s:
Malwarebytes
Spybot Search and Destroy
AVG or Avira or Avast (strong pref for AVG)
Firefox
Firefox Add-ons:
Adblock Plus
Filterset.G for Adblock Plus
Personally, I also use the FF add-on No Script.
Keep’em updated, run the first two once a week. Spybot also has an “Immunize” tool that you should use and under Advanced Tools, add in the Hosts file entries.
Keep windows up to date.
A couple of other programs to consider:
Ad-Aware by Lavasoft
Glary Utilities may help a little
If you go “Mudding” or “Four Wheeling” on the Internet (i.e. surf porn or other “fringe” stuff) use No Script.
Avoid P2P and torrent downloading programs (i.e. don’t download illegal music and movies) as they are festering holes of puss and infection.

Oh, and don’t forget:
Start–>Run
(Windows Key + R on Vista)
CHKDSK /F
Hit “y” and “enter” when the black box comes up.
Find your Windows or restore CD
Check that it is the same service pack as your PC by right-clicking “My Computer” or “Computer” and going to properties. At the top of this window it will tell you what version of Windows you are running and what service pack it is. If it doesn’t mention a service pack, then that means it is service pack zero (0) and your disk needs to not mention a service pack.
Start–>Run again
SFC /scannow
wait for it.
Reboot
It will do a couple of funky things, let it
When it comes back up, run a defrag
These should help too.

When you contact them one get an email back saying, they have recieved you request, and they will respond in to you in order. The respons never comes.
there should be away to make them remove it or sue them for violation. As for doing bussiess with them I will never, never do it again. and Will make sure others Know about them. Laws should passed to put them flat out of bussiness.

FinallyFast.com also installs an advertising program to help them make money as well.
Located at c:\WINDOWS\system32\SysRestore.dll the DLL file is executed at windows start up to download advertisements to your PC.
The list of programs you can get for free to help keep your PC running fast and clean isn’t very long, and most have a paid for version as well.
The ones I prefer to use are:
Spybot Search & Destroy: (Free/Donate)
MalwareBytes: (Free/Paid Version)
AVG Anti-Virus: (Free/Paid version)
CCleaner: (Free/Donate)
Ad-Aware: (Free/Paid Version)
Ad-Aware tend to be a bit touchy by not allowing other programs to install properly at times, such as AVG.
So if you have issues installing or running programs simply uninstall it.
Spybot also comes with a utility called TeaTimer which will monitor registry activity, I generally do not install it as I install and uninstall programs regularly. This feature can be disabled during the installation of Spybot.

I have been using Spybot S&D for 5 years when I began getting hit with all kinds of spyware and adware slowing my system to a crawl. Spybot has saved my ass many times starting with that first time. I have installed it onto my friends’ comps and it has saved their asses, too.
Windows Antivirus Pro 200x, a nasty piece of spyware which puts up “fake” Windows security alerts, has a feature which disables Spybot and prevents the user from going to its website, the one posted above. This is another reason I know Spybot is the real deal.
Thankfully, when this thing infected my friend’s PC not once but twice (he had to bring his comp to a service center to get windows reloaded), I was able to find (the second time) another free fixit called malwarebytes. That was able to remove just enough of Windows Antivirus Pro 200x so that Spybot was able to run again. Spybot then cleaned up the rest of the garbage which arrived after a few cycles and reboots, a lot better than a costly service call.
Webroot’s Spy Sweeper is another good program. Five years ago, I used it along with Spybot to find bad stuff. At the time, it was free because the dial-up service I had at the time allowed us to download and use it. I can still run it but I would have to pay to continue downloading current updates which are now 3 or 4 years out of date.

My name is Adam and I am the CEO of Ascentive Software. I wanted to reassure everyone that FinallyFast.com is a safe and easy to use website. Our software has been certified by Google, McAfee and Norton as not containing any Malware or Viruses. While a small percentage of people do experience problems with any software application, we have created a dedicated online support center (http://www.ascentive.com/support/index.php) to help users deal with commonly occurring problems. We also offer chat, email and phone support for users who need more personal assistance. Feel free to reach out if we can help.
August 19th, 2009 at 6:51 am
I didn’t read all the comments, so I don’t know if anyone posted this before, but finallyfast.com is a friggin’ SCAM. It doesn’t remove, but add all kinds of junk. There also is NO POSSIBLE WAY A PROGRAM CAN SPEED UP INTERNET CONNECTIONS.
Oh, and by the way: Removing “icons from your desktop” isn’t a way to clean your pc or make it faster. (shortcuts are about 250x smaller as the program itself, propably more.)

My site is a top 25,000 site on the Internet and was regard as one of the top sources for information regarding the digital transition. It has been endorsed my numerous organizations, news websites, and even a U.S. Senator.

I’m not a computer expert, nor do I play one on TV, But I suspected the
FinallyFast was some sort of scam the very first time I saw their dreadful
commercial. My visit to and perusal of this web page simply confirms my concerns, so I won’t be D/L’ing any of FinallyFast’s nonsense.
I am, however, interested in the Free Virgin that DJTEEL said was available for downloading back in July of ‘08.!!! Has it been checked for viruses??
October 24th, 2009 at 5:55 am

If you watch the ad, it gives you this BS line about someone’s computer with a Blue Screen (BSOD) on it. First off, the computer that has a blue screen error IS A MAC!! In the fine print, it says it is not compatible with Mac, no surprise. My problem is that they are advertising “PC” repair service and showing a Mac. There is no one program that can fix everything, finallyfast, fastatlast, whatever they want to call themselves, they are BS. Go to Majorgeeks.com, they have a list of antispyware programs that are usually free. Programs to look for:
Adaware Free
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
Spybot Search and Destroy
1 Click Utilities
Glary Utilities
Anti-Virus
AVG FREE
Avast Home
These are all programs that are free, they all have version that you pay for, but their simple programs are free.
This is what I do for a living. I fix people’s computers with these same programs, when I build and sell a new computer, I load a Free anti-virus program, a few of these utilities, and do you know how many calls I go out on to fix PC slow issues, virus, etc.? MAYBE 2 in 6 months.

fix my computer *******
December 4th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
Okay. The people who say this piece of shit brick software works HAVE to either be mentally unstable or high on something.
1) Macs don’t get blue screens.
2) EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS: Spybot-S&D: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/
Avast! Anti-virus Home Edition: http://www.avast.com/
With avast!, you have to resister the program, but you don’t need to pay a dime unless you want the Professional Edition. I promise you, I am running all three programs on all my computers, and they are virus free. I promise. You can donate to the CCleaner program and Spybot, but it’s not required, and you don’t get any features cut prom the programs. Hope this helps with your slow computers and virus/malware problems. 99thRangernick
December 6th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
how do i fix it?
December 10th, 2009 at 10:33 am
i use “C Cleaner” clears out just about everything, including; registry, temp files, cache and online junk
im pretty sure its free
also, not having 100 icons and lil games and pop ups on your desktop realy helps proformance as well
if you want speed for streaming games data or media content, get rid of all the stuff u dont definatly need on your computer
there is no shortcut to being elite with computers but honsectly it just takes a lil bit of reading and research, not paying a bunch of guys to fix your computer for you
December 17th, 2009 at 2:02 am
When you start to have a look for paths to speed up your computer and optimize it’s performance, you’ll come across the option of using a registry cleaner, and with these programs comes many options as well. Maybe you are on the lookout for freeware or maybe you are OK with spending a couple of dollars to get a quality product, but first you only need to find out how to choose the top registry cleaner software for your requirements. That’s what we’re going to discuss in this post, we’re going to go over the features that you should be hunting for when selecting a registry cleaning application. Click for more information.

I got Finally Fast in early Dec. 2009. In a few words: Don’t buy it.
In my case, I did notice a slight improvement on the computer’s speed for a couple of days but I also noticed that some programs were not operating normally. After a couple of days, the computer slowed down considerably and it froze three times in one day.
I checked the system with Norton 360, Malawarebytes and A2 (A square) and all three programs found Finally Fast’s product, called PC SCAN PRO, to contain spyware and a trojan. On top of that, PC SCAN PRO is linked to with other programs for which you have to pay an average of $30 each to “solve” other problems it allegedly detects in your computer.
Instead of solving problems, you are only getting into more problems by getting these products.
January 28th, 2010 at 3:07 pm
finally fast is not telling the true this program don’t work my pc was slow but now is slower don’t buy it.
February 10th, 2010 at 5:26 pm

February 11th, 2010 at 3:56 pm
It took over 2 hours to download these finallyfast programs! But the scan did find some errors need fixing.
February 11th, 2010 at 4:38 pm
You can fix any problem that FinallyFast can fix with the free tools mentioned above. No need to waste your money…
February 13th, 2010 at 2:39 am
there is a ton a law enforcement out there and none of them care that people get scammed and robbed of there money and privacy.
February 15th, 2010 at 5:56 pm
i recently purchased your program and i think i got totally scammed on this i got suckered into buying one program which was the speedscan pro which didn’t do anything better for my computer so now i have to buy another one of the programs to make my computer run faster that is such bull i would either want my money back or exchange it for the program that actually will make my computer run faster because the one i purchased did not work. i wanted to talk to someone but i can’t seem to find anywhere that i can get a hold of anyone i hope to get a response from somebody or i will place a complaint with the better business bureau about this mess because i feel i have been scammed
February 15th, 2010 at 5:58 pm
my computer is worse too i’ve had more problems with mine too since i got the speedscan pro
February 24th, 2010 at 1:06 am
I have a mac and most of what I’m reading does not seem to apply, but my computer is definitely slower than a few months ago. So I went hunting, but had my doubts about that TV ad, so saw these comments first. I used to de-frag, but my understanding is that macs no longer need that process. Also, can’t figure out the process if it is needed. I don’t have any significant number of pictures, but I do have a lot of emails that I must keep. And I use Entourage for the email, and Safari for a browser. Someone else used this as their computer for a few months and when they left the office, I took it over as it was newer and that person moved my files over. For the first time in my life, I can’t understand what they have done, but I know something is wrong. Every time I shut down, Entourage seems to shut down twice, and that program is getting slower by the hour. Any and all suggestions appreciated.
