Kool – A new search engine called Kool or Cuil.com and run by former Google employees is out to challenge the search engine giant with results based on content, not inbound links.

The new Kool search engine’s home page looks as focused as Google with a minimal search box, but Cuil’s results give you a better idea of what’s there by using thumbnail images of each page listed.

Ofiicially named cuil.com, the new search engine claims to have the biggest search engine database of content and can spider 25 billion new pages in two days.

Cuil.com is proud of the fact they avoid Google’s vaunted PageRank which Kool claims is subject to search engine spam through inbound link manipulation schemes.

Whether Cuil.com can claim even a smidgen of Google’s massive share of search remains to be seen.

And that’s the latest news on the Cuil new search engine, aka Kool.
