Usain Bolt finished in 9.69 seconds, but could have easily broken 9.6 if he hadn’t started celebrating so soon.
Richard Thompson was second in 9.89 seconds and Walter Dix was third in 9.91 seconds, both personal bests.
Former world record holder Asafa Powell was fifth in 9.95 seconds and Tyson Gay failed to qualify for the finals after running 10.05 in his semifinal heat.

Blame it on NBC which won’t release the video til they show it tonight.
You can’t even watch it on BBC or Canada (cbc.ca) web sites unless you disguise your IP address.

Should be able to watch it on nbcolympics.com sometime tonight, probably about 11:00 pm EST to allow for the fact that NBC time delays everything on the West Coast, even the so-called “live” coverage…
