Shawn Johnson Gold Medal – Pics and video of Shawn Johnson Olympics gold medal balance beam routine as Shawn beats Nastia Liukin for gold by 16.225 to 16.025.

The Shawn Johnson gold medal win is a feel good Olympics story about the sweet 16-year old with the big smile finally winning gold after three silver medals.
“You don’t train for silver,” Johnson said last week, still smiling despite her obvious disappointment at some of the judging scores she received.

On the arena floor after her gold medal win on the beam, Shawn melted into her coach, Liang Qiao, for a big bear hug.

Shawn Johnson dreamed of giving him a gold medal here in his hometown and finally, on the last day of gymnastics competition, she had done it.

“I could tell by the way that he hugged me and the look on his face that he was more proud of me than he’s ever been,” she said. “I really feel like I made him proud.”
