The Ryan MacDonald shooting happened in the Central High School cafeteria at 8:00 a.m. as 16-year old junior was specifically targeted and murdered in cold blood.
Knoxville chief deputy Bill Roehl said MacDonald and the suspect knew each other, “This wasn’t a shooting that was a random act.”
Roehl says the school shooting suspect was taken into custody a few blocks away about six minutes after the shooting and that the murder weapon was recovered from the suspect.
Ryan MacDonald was transported to University of Tennessee Hospital where he died thirty minutes after the shooting.
Police were alerted by the daughter of a Knoxville sheriff’s deputy who called her father to report shots fired at Central High School just before school started.
