Kenny Chesney Foot – Country star Kenny Chesney broke his right foot in a lift mishap during his Columbia, SC show, but played anyway despite several crushed bones in his broken foot.

The Kenny Chesney foot injury happened right at the start of his set when his foot got stuck between the stage and a mechanical lift that places him on an elevated platform amidst the audience.

As a safety precaution, his feet are harnessed in place as the power lift hoists him up through a hole in the audience portion of the stage and the lift didn’t align correctly with the stage opening.
As his band played the intro to “Live Those Songs”, Chesney’s right foot got broken and the bones crushed when the platform lift missed merging smoothly with the stage platform and the harness prevented him from leaping clear.

Chesney bent down and spent a good 30 seconds wrestling his cowboy boot loose while the band kept extending the opening riffs.
Despite being visibly pained by the foot injury throughout the set, Kenny Chesney gamely gave the crowd what they came for, a rollicking good time and some great country music.
He was visibly limping throughout the set and periodically rested on a drum riser during instrumental solos to rest his broken foot.

As he came offstage, a doctor from the University of South Carolina cut off Chesney’s cowboy boot and immediately began treating the foot injury. X-rays taken later revealed several crushed bones in his right foot.
“I took one look at those fans, and there was no way I wasn’t going on,” Chesney said in a written statement issued following the concert. “Sometimes the energy and the adrenalin pull you through. They had come to rock, and there was no way I was sending them home with anything less than the best of what me and my guys came to do — put it all out there and give them back at least as good as they gave us. … Honestly, through the pain, through all of it, Columbia, S.C., totally got me through.”
And that’s the latest news on the Columbia, SC Kenny Chesney foot injury.

I too, was at the concert….. Kenny was AMAZING…. you could clearly see the pain on his face at times, but he vowed to give us his best… and he did. Loved it when he pulled a lady from the audience with a sign that said, “I beat Cancer, with your music”! I guess he figured if it helped her Cancer, it could sooth his broken foot…. Way To Go Kenny!!!!!!

He continues to AMAZE me! I simply thought he dropped the microphone! With such an incredible voice, you don’t need “stage antics” Kenny. People LOVE you for the powerful lyrics and melodies. Keep rockin cast and all!

I hated to hear Kenny got hurt on the set. I hope he recovers quick and with little or no pain. It takes a strong person with a lot of love for his fans to do what he did. That is why he is considered one of the best entertainers ever. He takes such good care of his fans that I can only hope he takes some time now to take care of himself. Heal and continue on the wild ride!

Kenny is the best! I love him with all my heart. For him to sustain an injury like that and to go on to entertain all of those faithful fans, shows how truly great he is. That is why he deserves Entertainer of the Year, once again!
