Valdimir Putin and the gold medal-winning rythmic gymnast Alina Kabayeva, 24, now a member of the Russian parliament, will be married June 15, according to European news reports.
The wedding will take place roughly a month after Putin steps down as Russian president, according to reports quoting a party planner in Putin’s home city, St Petersburg, who is organizing the couple’s lavish wedding reception.
The news followed reports last year that Putin and Kabaeva were seen kissing in a Moscow restaurant. Alina, who is 32 years younger than the Kremlin leader, also appeared in the Russian edition of Maxim magazine.
Alina Kabaeva got her seat in the Duma, or Russian parliament, after Putin ordered that more young, attractive women should be in politics. Miss Kabayeva, who won a gold medal at the 2004 Olympic games and a bronze medal at the 2000 Olympics, is widely regarded as one of Russia’s most beautiful women.
Shortly after Putin’s decree, Alina was nominated to represent a district near St. Petersburg and is now a Duma member for a pro-Kremlin party.
Libel is now subject to the same sanctions as other crimes such as the promotion of terrorism, extremism, and racial hatred. Just goes to show how powerful Vladimir Putin is in Russia.

Vladimir Putin Has Son With Alina Kabaeva
Alina Kabaeva, the former gymnast and mistress-turned-girlfriend of Vladamir Putin, has given birth to a baby boy. But the happy news is not making headlines in her son’s home country.
The 26-year-old has been with Putin since 2006, when she was linked to the then-married Russian political leader, and was even rumored to be set to marry him after his divorce from his wife Ludmilla.
