FastAtLast.com – Another website that you might want to avoid is FastAtLast.com, which purports to speed up your computer with a free scan and some recommendations.

The FastAtLast.com website is heavily promoted by advertising and seems legit when you first take a look. However, it’s the exact same thing as it’s predecessor site, FinallyFast.com.
The website encourages you to download their free scanning tool and run it. Of course, when you do, it tells you that all sorts of things are wrong with your PC and you need to buy their program to fix them.
What FastAtLast.com doesn’t tell you is that some of the things that are now wrong were part of their download, because it changes some of your Windows registry files and drivers, something no legitimate scanning tool would do.
Another thing FastAtLast fails to tell you is that there are free tools available to remove spyware and unwanted programs that are slowing your computer. There’s no need to pay for something you can get for free, and no reason for them to make the problem worse for you just to make a sale.
Best thing to do is avoid this site and save your money.
And that’s the latest news on another scam website, FastAtLast.com.

Here’s a thought. If someone is selling software that is supposed to repair your pc (such as fix the registery and speed it up etc), and if this is something that will be a continual and repeated problem (as these sorts of problems are), there is no good reason why they shouldn’t let you try it for free — once. I.e., fix the problems it says it has found. Because then you will see that it works and will buy it for future use — which you will need. This scam — of doing a ‘free’ scan and then ‘finding’ hundreds of problems to fix which, however, you have to buy their software, must almost always be a scam.

There are some really good free downloads for antivirus, spyware and so on. I downloaded spybot for free and it DOES work.
