Kaleb Tierce – After three girls suddenly recalled some 2005 memories, Texas teacher Kaleb Tierce was indicted on three counts of attempted improper relationship between educator and student.
26-year old Kaleb Tierce, who taught AP English classes at Jim Ned High School in Tuscola, had been suspended with pay for the entire 2007 school year after a parent complained about a reading assignment involving a book she thought was inappropriate for her 14-year old daughter.
The award-winning book, “Child of God” by Cormac McCarthy, was about a murderer who had sex with his victim’s bodies.
As the school board weighed letting Tierce resume his teaching duties for the current school year, three girls said he made improper advances toward them back in 2005.
Taylor County sheriff’s Sgt. John Cummins said Tierce allegedly asked one girl to come to his home under a “normal pretense,” then allegedly kissed her and exposed himself to her.
Tierce reprtedly asked another girl “what she would be willing to do for a better grade” and asked a third girl for sexual favors, according to the indictment. All of the incidents allegedly happened in 2005.
His contract was not renewed and Tierce’s teacher certification could be revoked. If convicted of all three third-degree felony charges, Tierce could be sentenced up to 10 years in prison.
And that’s the latest news on the strange indictment of Kaleb Tierce.
