The news that Obama wins electoral vote doesn’t surprise those who have followed the tough state-by-state Presidential campaign for the last eighteen months.
To win the Electoral College vote, a candidate needs 270 votes. In the 2004 election, John Kerry fell short with 242 votes as Bush won crucial states like Ohio and Florida.

With less than a week left before Election Day, John McCain is in a hole so deep and so wide in electoral votes that he will never be able to dig his way out.
