Amanda Collette - A high school sophomore, Amanda Collette, was shot and killed in a school hallway by another female who texted Amanda to meet her there.

The shooting of Amanda Collette by Teah Wimberly reportedly happened after Amanda rejected lesbian advances from Teah who became enraged.
Doctors were unable to save Broward high school student Amanda Collette, 15, who was shot on the Dillard High School campus Wednesday morning.
The suspect texted the victim to meet her after class, to meet her near a vending machine down the hallway, the place where she was shot.
The shooting suspect, Teah Wimberly, also 15 years of age, was questioned at police headquarters and charged with first-degree murder.
Ft. Lauderdale police spokesman Sgt. Frank Sousa said around 11 a.m., a school resource officer at Dillard High School, at 2501 NW 11th Street, found Collette unconscious in a hallway by the school’s computer lab.
Ft. Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel feverishly worked on Collette as they rushed her to Broward General Medical Center. She died a short time later at the hospital.
At about the same time Collette was found in the hallway, Sousa said police received a call from the suspected shooter at a Captain Crabs Take-Away near the school.
Arriving police officers took the 15-year-old Wimberly into custody. They also recovered a small caliber handgun.
And that’s the latest news on the death of Dillard High School sophomore, Amanda Collette.

A 15-year-old girl accused of fatally shooting a Dillard High School classmate last month sent text messages to at least three friends warning she would shoot herself or someone else, a television station reports.
Teah Wimberly, who will be tried as an adult, is accused of the Nov. 12 slaying of Amanda Collette, also 15.
The court documents show police detectives examined Wimberly’s Sidekick cellphone, and that she sent the messages anywhere from 24 hours to just 5 minutes before the shooting, according to cbs4.com.
According to the documents, Wimberly wrote:
“Tomorrow I will shoot myself in the heart.”
“I just might get arrested tomorrow.”
“U gon come visit me in jail”
“Ima shoot somebody”
“Ima bust a cap in somebody”
cbs4.com says the documents do not show what Wimberly’s friends said in response nor does it say if any of the friends warned an adult of Wimberly’s alleged threats.
Detectives say in the document they are working to recover more of the messages sent and received among the parties.
The documents also reveal Wimberly sent text messages to Collette in the 24 hour period prior to the shooting. However, the contents of those messages were not available.
Detectives write that Wimberly admitted having “text message conversations with Collette and others concerning her feelings towards Collette.”
Broward County prosecutors formally charged Wimberly with second-degree murder Thursday.
If convicted, Wimberly faces a maximum punishment of life in prison.
Classmates said Wimberly sought a romantic relationship with Collette but was rejected.
After the shooting, Wimberly told police, “I wanted her to feel pain like me,” according to a police document.
She also has been charged with possession of a weapon on school property, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
