Butterfly Bra – A new bra by Jill Scott with a butterfly strap design in the back, seen in pictures and video below, aims to bring comfort to voluptuous women with its innovative design.

The Butterfly bra was designed by Grammy-winning singer Jill Scott and is part of the Ashley Stewart stores “The Butterfly Collection By Jill Scott”, a whole new brand of intimate apparel for plus-sized women.
The new bra from The Butterfy Collection features gel-filled shoulder straps and cups and a patented double clasp design in back that helps eliminate unsightly bulges beneath your clothing.
Available exclusively at the 220 Ashley Stewart Stores, the Butterfly Bra Collection is promoted by full-color window-sized posters of Ms. Scott in every store.
Aimed at the plus-size woman with a larger than average cup size, the new bra collection is also being promoted in conjunction with Jill Scott’s “The Real Thing” album and tour.

How small of a size do they make in this bra,my granddaughter is of small staue, size 10 but, she has a (dd) size breast.
May 16th, 2008 at 10:13 am
@ Elaine your grandaughter is not plus sized then so this bra will be too big for her.
Ashley Stewart sells womens sizes (14 and up) back sizes will be 40 inches and up.
Your grandaughter needs to wear full support bras in standard back sizes. Check Bali, Barely There and MaidenForm for bra styles labeled as Full Coverage and Full Support.

Butterfly Bra Price & Availability
You can order the butterfly bra at any Ashley Stewart store or place an order online.
As of May 14th, Ashley Stewart will be taking pre-orders for their “Butterfly Bra”, the bra inspired by Jill Scott, for $39.00 each and $8.95 flat rate shipping.
Available sizes range from 38 D all the way up to 44 DDD. Each measurement is offered in D, DD, and DDD cup sizes.
Color choices are white, mocha, and black.
Not sure if they make special sizes, but since they are offering the Butterfly Bra by pre-ordering or online orders only, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to ask.
There is also a “strapless” version available as seen below.

It is especially difficult for the ladies who wear F, G, and H sizes to find a good bra. I half the get the bra with adjustable straps with the clamp that stays put. It would be oh so helpful if this bra came in those sizes. And if it did, I believe it would save me from this constant back and shoulder pain. 38G

Why aren’t there butterfuly bras for 36C/D, sometimes that size breast depending on the weight of the person could be useful as well. My daughter is 165 pounds (13 years old). Should she have this type of bra for breast control and comfort?
Thanks.

HOW do u order a butterfly bra on Ashley Stewart??? I can’t seem 2 find the bra!!! I am trying 2 order 1 for my mom, buti can’t seem 2 find it!!! Someone please HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!
June 2nd, 2008 at 2:10 am
I know the pain of being big busted and dealing with bra straps that have made actual ditches in my shoulders and under wires that poke and bruise. I am 46ddd but depending on the bra sometimes can wear a 44ddd. I solute Ms. Scott, I’ve always joked with my daughter that men must design the bras because they are so
uncomfortable and unflattering and that only a big breasted woman could design the ultimate bra. Sounds like it’s finally here! Thanks Jill and Ashley Stewart-please consider larger sizes.
June 2nd, 2008 at 3:07 pm
I wear a size 50DD and your bra only goes to a 44DDD what about the rst of the plus size women out here Jill.
June 4th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
how can i buy this butt bra.
June 6th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
I thought finally a bra for me, no more underarm pain, back pain or numbing breast pain. I felt so very defeated when I saw the bra sizes. I am a 36G one of the most illusive sizes in the world.
I salute Ms. Jill Scott and Ashley Stewart for this innovative step towards comfortable bras for the plus sized woman.
However, I also challenge them to include the special sizes E, F, G, H in the design even if only for a limited time. I think you’ll be surprised by the huge demand for these sizes.
June 6th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Like most of the Ladies emailing in, I am a 48DD and my question is like most of them, what about Ladies that need a larger size? How long will we have to wait?
Ms. Jill Scott, thank you so much and Ashley Stewart for stepping out and bring reality to our world. But the Reality is we need more size ranges and cup sizes to be add. Please bring in the stores soon or online. God Bless you and May He enlarge your inventory.
June 7th, 2008 at 10:13 am
i agree with the ladies that wear a larger bra size. i’m between sizes 52 and 54d. i purchase my playtex bras through jms. please make your bras accessible to all.
June 7th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
why not in larger sizes? I wear a 48 I. Boy does my neck hurt. My shoulders too. There are ruts in my shoulders that are red and sore. I am tired of having cleavage. I want my boobs separated. No underwire, please. it pokes up into my armpits when i bend at the waist. I am tired of poor posture due to the weight of my bust. Help! I am not having surgery, no matter what the doctor says.
June 8th, 2008 at 3:40 pm

June 9th, 2008 at 9:30 pm
I would like to know from someone who has one, just how good it is. Does it support, lift, serperate, and stay in place like it should? What about putting it on? I’m not the greatest when it comes to being able to close it in the back and hate the close in front and turn it around.
Let me know thanks.
June 14th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
I wear a size 50 D and i do not see the Butterfly BRa in that size. and 50 D is (definetly) plus size
June 16th, 2008 at 5:16 am
Hi, I am a plus size that had a breast reduction. I am a 44 B now and still have the back fat and posture problem. Will you be making this bra in a smaller cup size? thanks, Jean Smyth
June 16th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
How do you get measurements to order bra? Or tell me
is there a store in Shreveport,LA.
June 17th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
I’m interested in this new bra, but the cup size is very limited. I’m a 42H. I hope, in the near future, the bra will come in larger cup sizes for the very ample figure. There is a market for real super plus sizes ladies. Bra manufacturers won’t be disappointed in the sales!
June 18th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Hi…
I’m not a plus size; I wear a size 10 pant, but I wear a 38DD bra. With the bras I now wear, I get those horrid bulges in the back, and behind my underarms, that I hate, and the straps dig into my shoulders and hurt. Will the Butterfly Bra be good for me?
Thanks,
Diana Reed
June 20th, 2008 at 5:05 am
I am a 52DD and need a front closing bra. I hope that you consider the issues plus size women have who are larger than the sizes you offer. I am tired of being cut into and still being raw under my arms from the bras I wear now the next day. Please help all of us!
June 22nd, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Iwas so excited when I heard jill spoke about this bra…but now – I may not be a canidate and am sooo disappointed. I used to be a 34H had surgery and now am a 34DDD+ and cannot find a decent bra…most F-H cups start at 38…remember me in your redesign. Thanks

I finally found this site that shows the back of this bra. Eight hooks in the back! Wow.
That’s a lot of hooks. Wouldn’t all that be rather warm to wear?
June 25th, 2008 at 2:22 pm
I was excited to visit your website thinking finally a bra my size 50DD, but then find that you don’t carry this size. There are alot of us women that are bigger than a 46. I mean come on I can find a 46 in a regular store. I can also find a 50DD but I was interested in the way your bra is suppose to hide back fat. So please for us woman who are bigger than a 46 make some bigger sizes it would be greatly appreciated I’m sure.
June 27th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Kudos to you for your innovative bra. However, as others have expressed I need an H cup. Please consider making larger sizes even if they must be custom ordered. Heavy chested girls everywhere are counting on you.

July 10th, 2008 at 11:54 am
I am dishearted. I saw the run on tv for the bra and have been waiting to buy it for an up coming wedding. When I went to the website and found that the largest size was 44DDD my heart just left me. Here we go again, another time when we are given the run about how big busted women were going to love it because is was just for them and then come to find out that it was not even made for enough of us. Yes some of us can get help but very few. The size range is so limited that it leaves alot to be desired as to where these people are getting their information as to size ranges. Maybe they think that just because the world thinks we should be size 2 and all those complaining are size 14 that thats all there is to it. Well wake up world because bra size is more than 44DDD and we need major help!

I wear a 38G -40G I live in Tampa Fl. Where can I find your bras and do you make these sizes? Thank you
July 10th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
I am a 50DD. Does anyone know if “Bra Extenders” will work?
Hi Ms. Scott and Ms. Stewart. I am so glad that you’ve designed a bra for plus size woman, but most plus size women are larger then 44DDD. I would love to try your new bra and I hope that you make larger sizes very very soon. Take Care
July 13th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
The butterfly bra is not available in Michigan at this writing. We drove over one hour today – July 13, 2008 to find an Ashley Stewart store near Detroit and discovered per the sales lady only SAMPLES of the bra will be available to try on sometime in November of 2008. I agree with the front closure type bra that someone suggested – it is backsupport that is needed for large busted women- I would much rather have a front closure butterfly bra. According the website I visited the butterfly bra will be available in a size 38DDD. I hope so. Thank you.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
I was very excited when I saw the butterfly bra advertised in a magazine. Now that I have checked online for the bra, I’m disappointed because the bra does not come in my size. I am a 46 DDD. What about those of us who wear larger sizes and cups. We need attention too!

July 26th, 2008 at 8:48 am
looking for a strapless for a wedding in 3 weeks. bneed a 42 dd, need to see pictures to tell how high the back of the bra is. The gown is halter style not really a low back, but across themiddle of the back. any help will be apprecaited?
July 28th, 2008 at 12:04 am
First let me sy that your design is great. But here we go again. You say you have a bra for full figure but only goes up to DDD. Now a fay that is not full-figure. G, H, i, L, and K cup sizes, now that is full fuigure. So were can you help? I am a 46 H. I have lost 40 pound which allowed me to go from a 48 H/I to 46 H.
July 28th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
I just wanted to add, like the others, that my mom had heard about this product and it sounded great. However, I’m a 36H, so to see you only go to a DDD was disappointing. Please consider expanding your line.
July 29th, 2008 at 9:49 am

July 30th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
ordered butterfly bra like to know it will arrive?
August 2nd, 2008 at 2:27 am
When viewing the bra on tv, I thought the answer to my wishful thinking had came true expressly the butterfly design in the back that deals most with the overhang of the back that plus/superplus woment deal with, do anyone know when will happen.
August 5th, 2008 at 11:25 am
I really appreciate Jill for coming up with this idea. While reading the comments that are posted, I beleive that the only thing that most of you need to do is go and get sized properly. My reason for saying that is some of you are like a 46DD or whatever, if you go to a DDD its the same thing. For example a size 40D is the same as a 38DD.
Jill made the effort to come up with the idea, you cant put her down because your size is not available. This is just the begining, give it more time you never know the other sizes may be one the way.
Have faith and a wonderful day
August 5th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
How do you know what size to order? If you wear a 44D and it is a little big a 42 Da little snug, and some bras fit in a 42C how do we MEaSURE FOR THIS BRA????
August 14th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Like most others I was very excited to learn of Ms. Scott’s bra, but ended up very disappointed. Thank you, Jill, for your design. Please consider the larger busted full-sized woman. I am a 42H. It is so very difficult to find bras that are form-flattering, beautiful, and comfortable.

So I just wanted to rant here about bras. I hate hearing about anything mainstream about bras. I am a size 30 H. I know I’m not plus sized but my breasts sure are. There are two companies in the world that make bras in a band size of 30. I am not a super skinny person but I need the tighter band size to be able to get the support I need which then results in bulging in the back. When will companies realize that there are plenty of customers who are not plus sized who need larger cup sizes. If you think you’re having problems as a 36 G also realize that after a G cup there are very few options and the smaller in band size you go the few choices there are that aren’t A and B cups. Anyways thanks for listening.

Hi!,
September 7th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
“For example a size 40D is the same as a 38DD.”
No it is NOT. When trying to get the correct fit, you have to be measured!!! That why the numbers are so important. The cups are size to support each beast. I tried that trick before and my breasts will not even look like a pair (more like a shelf) when I wear shirts and will no help the posture. Ladies get measured often and stick with the size!!!!
Getting measured, while wearing your current bra with no padding!!!
A cup: The farther point of the breast measure 1inch from the base
B Cup: 2in
C Cup: 3in
D cup: 4in
DD cup: 5in
DDD cup: 6in
so on
LADIES STICK WITH YOUR SIZE!!!
September 7th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
DD=E
DDD=F
I see some shops that switch the lettering. I wish they will have a standard.
September 18th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
Hi, I have a 34 ??DDD. i’M ONLY 4 10” ON A GOOD DAY so it’s important that I don’t look I’m like all breast. I love the design of the butterfly bra and would definitly wear it. Shorter people with large breast have alot of the same problems. Please make this bra for us too. We need our girl to be supported properly too.

If your cup size is G and up to K BRAVISSIMO is the website for you. The bras are pretty and provide the suppor you need ( as long as you know your true cup size)
The only downsize is the BRAVISSIMO stores are only in Europe and therefore you will have to order the bra, but IT IS WORTH IT.
The catalog is wonderful the service is great! Give it a shot.
I hope this helps I’m a 36 K so I really understand.
By the way Le Mystère makes bras up to G and when I was in a G I loved them and you can find the at Nordstrom stores.

I have two solutions for the larger breasted women: 1. lose all the damn weight, and 2. still confused? see # 1! Please don’t respond if you cannot type in intelligible English. Don’t need to see the “ya’all’s”, “yo yo yo” and “what ya mean” ghettofied responses. Speak English and not ebonics and get some education and a diet plus exercise routine.
Peace my homies.
May 5th, 2009 at 9:41 am
Hi,
I checked this bra out, but much to my dismay the cup sizes only go up to a DDD! I am a 36J and cannot find bras except at lingerie shops and then they start at $65.00. Will Miss Scott and her design team ever release these bras in the expanded cup sizes, G, F, H, I, J, K, L,? I for one would be glad to see them.
June 4th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
I would love to see this bra go both ways! Larger cup size and smaller girth size. I am a 34F and have a super hard time finding ANY bras! They are either too small in cup size, or too big in the chest the measurement. Since I weigh 128 pounds it is not a weight issue for me that I have large breast, I just got blessed!
June 9th, 2009 at 6:58 am
Does the butterfly bry come in a 38 C?
June 22nd, 2009 at 7:12 pm
I wear a 40J bra size. Will you make any of your bras in this size. I have to buy all of my bras online. I would love to wear a bra that doesn’t cut into my skin and leave bruises.
June 25th, 2009 at 6:41 pm
I am a plus size, large back but 36C; I would love to have the bra for my back size and firm back area. Will the Butterfly ever be available for large backs. There is a huge need, thanks. If available please direct me.

I was very excited when I saw the butterfly bra advertised in a magazine. Now that I have checked online for the bra, I’m disappointed because the bra does not come in my size. What about those of us who wear larger sizes and cups. We need attention too!
August 5th, 2009 at 9:00 pm
I would like to know if you make this bra for smaller sizes. It is a great concept for covering up the back flab. I am not plus size. I currently wear 34D Natori 36D Donna Karan Sports bras. I find myself liking the 3 hook & underwire support of my sports bra. A 34 D or 36D in the Butterfly would be awesome! Thanks!!!!!
August 25th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
woow this is really innovative to me as I saw it for the first time. I really liked it and thanks for providing information on where to buy it from.
September 1st, 2009 at 6:34 am
Hello. Can anyone recommend a company that makes the larger bra sizes? Thanks!
September 6th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
yes, i have the answer, go on-line look for http://WWW.CREATVEWOMENSWIZARDOFBRAS.COM. PHONE NUMBER: (626) 358-6216. IT WILL GIVE TIME AND DATES OF OPERATION. BY THE WAY I TRIED THE BUTTERFLY BRA AND I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED, THEY DID NOT HAVE SIZE. SO WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS SHE THINKING WHEN SHE NEGLECTED TO COVER ALL BIG BEAUTIFUL WOMEN. WHEN I TRIED THE BRA ON I START CRYING, BECAUSE IT FILL JUST LIKE A GLOVE. SO I’M JUST COMPLETELY LEFT OUT. I HAD TO TELL SOMBODY. GOOD BRA HUNTING. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

I was very disappointed with the Jill Scott bras. My mother was waiting on these brands and she is a 46G. I was trying to buy these as a Christmas gift. Now is the question of where are the true full figure sizes that are suppose to be here for the full figured women.?

DEAR JILL I WAS SO EXCITED TO HEAR ABOUT THE NEW BRA. HOWEVER, I WAS VERY SAD WHEN MY BRA SIZE WAS NOT AVAILBLE 40H. PLEASE MAKE LARGER SIZES. I WAS READY TO PURCHASE AT LEAST FOUR BRAS THAT DAY.

I just recently bought a butterfly in a 38DDD. Only thng is the back is too big (I need a 36). Please consider woman who are not large in width but in cup. It’s so hard for me to find a bra and I’m told I’m “fake boob” size. Unfortunatley, Its all natural and not going anywhere. Please help us too!

I am about a 40-42J and have been losing weight. It is so sad that this bra would only be made in such a limited size. The video above makes it sound like this is going to be a savior to so many! HA! Not quite. FYI…women my size have even more problems finding a bra than someone lucky enough to only be a DDD!
