The David Cook homecoming concert took place May 9, 2008 in the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
Kansas City rolled out the red carpet for David, providing a police escort for his limousine ride through downtown and some much need help with crowd control.
David Cook gave his fans what they wanted, a live concert in a covered outdoor venue that was packed with screaming fans waving signs for their favorite American Idol contestant.
And of course, the American idol favorite gave them a great show.
Playing an electric acoustic, David ripped through several songs, including the well-received “Always Be My Baby”.
David Cook got the full American Idol homecoming treatment with speeches from local dignitaries like the mayor and the governor, plus a key to the city.
